In my humble opinion in order to build a qualityl web site, the tools you should use are the followings:

Photoshop: Best photo-editing software, there is almost no arguing this point. And once you get good enough, you can do all your design in photoshop.

Dreamweaver: I consider it the best software out there. It wouldn't hurt if you study some html language. You can find helpful guides by doing a search on that term in google.

With these tool you can create some professional and high quality sites.

Hope this helps

Kind regards,
Izabella

Default Depends of what you mean by "linked images"

I'm not sure what you mean by "linked images" but if you need something like an image gallery on your site then you want to look at the wikipedia comparison of various programs of that type:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...llery_software

There are a number of free/open source programs, especially so for php supporting sites (most, I think). For one example, check out php Web Gallery at http://www.phpwebgallery.net/. I haven't used it personally but it has seemed pretty good to me as I think about using such a program sometime later.

Default Joomla!

In what has become something of a redundancy, I'm going to recommend trying Joomla.

It's a free open-source content management system that gives you total freedom and control over your humble site. It's a quick download and it's VERY easy to learn and use, even if you're new to site building.

Dreamweaver and Photoshop are great tools... too great, in my opinion (they take a long, long, LONG time to become proficient at).

Something like Joomla and (believe it or not) Microsoft Powerpoint are all you really need. Powerpoint (the newer versions at least) has a ton of awesome image-manipulating tools built in, and most people already have it on their computers. It's definitely no Photoshop, but it's WAY easier to do and you don't have to drop hundreds of dollars to obtain it.

Linking images is only the start of the fun!

Joomla.com

While you're there, check out the "extensions" part of the site. You'll be blown away.

btw, all you really have to do to link any image is insert a simple bit of code... no matter which software you use:

<a href="www.yourlink.com"><img src="thePathToYourImage.jpg"></a>

thats all it takes!

You just go to http://joomla.org and come to the middle of the site and there you will found the 2 download link one for Joomla Older version and another is Joomla Update version 1.5. left side. Hope you find it and download your Version.

Hi nkoli,

I have a similar question. I will be using automated PowerPoint presentations on my WordPress website and was wondering the best way to set this up.
