Default What is the best type of website building software ?

Would it be best to go with a Web based type of software e.g.. an SBI one (which is a yearly subscription purchase). OR or a software/disk one e.g. XSitePro (which is a one time purchase) ???
OR a regular Web host, such as (Bluehost – Hostgator – or go daddy) .

I would like some flexibility / creativity in, what ever I do finally purchase.

You always get the most flexibility when you go with a regular host like godaddy, hostgator, etc. Any kind of host with a bundled site builder always limits you in some way. Although with SBI! you can still break away from the builder. I don't know much about XSitePro.

I believe a content management system is the best.

For example: Wordpress. It makes it very easy to create pages, upload images, etc. And then there are many free themes and plugins to extend functionality.

Dreamweaver is considered by many as the best. However, it is costly and needs lots of learning before your sites start looking professional

Default Dreamweave

Right Adobe Dreamweaver is considered the industry standard, Why else would Adobe have acquired Macromedia (Flash and Dreamweaver) and dropped Golive from the main Studio package. You can download a free 3 month trial from Adobe.
It is a steep learning curve but Garrick Chow’s video training make it easy. From Lynda.com.

Dreamweaver is a what you see is what you get type interface and I found it relatively easy to learn Ha I am still learning but I always get the latest training for each new version I get. You cannot get enough training. Living in Thailand the software etc is cheap

If you can use MS Word with ease try the free web page builder in the Linux offshoot OpenOfficeOrg, just type open office into Google and u can download it for free.
DONT save a MS Word doc as a web page and upload it as the code is ###**@% Dreamweaver has a built in tool for removing all that ###%@& out of a MS Word page.
