I'm looking to get Dreamweaver, cuz I guess it's time that I graduate. I'm on my third website(first for monetization purposes) and I've always used Yahoo sitebuilder, cuz its easy and free.
I have a good understanding of using their service, but I do see limitations and want to get Dreamweaver. What I'm trying to find out is how hard is it to learn...I know that I can and will learn it, but I want to know will I hit the ground running with it.
I hear everyone say how it's not for beginners and that it's hard to learn. What I find is that with most programs, they have similarites that make learning easier....Has anyone here used YSB and made the change to dreamweaver? Tell me how it was for you.
Back when I knew absolutely nothing about web designing (no coding experience) I got myself Dreamweaver and I uploaded my first website that day to a free host. It wasn't the best website by any means, but it looked fair, had lots of CSS styling, rollover navigation images etc.
That should give you an idea of how easy Dreamweaver is to use. I also have to add, today I don't use Dreamweaver or any WYSIWYG at all.
Ok, u guys have helped...I think, I'll download their demo first...but I'm tempted to just buy it outright, cuz I hate demos, and everyone give Dreamweaver a big thumbs up....I'm more than confident, I'll learn to use it without prob...but I want to hit the ground running...don't we all...
I started out with FrontPage because it came with my PC but I quickly learned all the issues FrontPage has and decided to learn Dreamweaver. I LOVE it now and glad I switched. I bought a book at Barnes and Noble to help me along. DW is especially good for designing sites with CSS... an absolute must.
