Default Please help, totaly lost!

Salut, I am a complete novice in making a website, could somebody point me where to go to explain what to do?
I understand domain name, a webhost, and maybe there is a site that i could use to take a template that is already completed for me. What I dont understand is in simple language is what to do first? Have a website template, and how do I add pictures, text, and when finished where do I go from there, and what do I have to do on my PC to get it running, I am so confused.
Please help if poss and bearing in mind my knowledge is very limited.

Thank you.

Default Here is one excellent way to start.

You can't go wrong by going to w3schools.com and looking at their tutorials. They are clear and easy to follow. They are standards compliant, which means they are up to date and teach the best code (most tutorials on line are not doing that so be careful). And they are free. You can't lose.

Don't be overwhelmed when you see all the stuff available. As you get into it you will see that you can do great stuff with just the first two parts--html and css. You won't have to have a lot of programs to work with. You can just use Notepad or download the free version of NoteTab or some other html editor.

With this done you will be ready to do your own pages with or without a template. Then set up a domain and a web host and use a ftp program (filezilla is excellent and free, too) to upload your files (your host will have instructions but basically it is very simple, you just copy files from your computer to the web host in your ftp program like you do from one folder to another on your computer).

Default Baby Steps!

That is my best answer, baby steps, get a domain, get a design, get some content and then post to the world wide web. But, don't rush it, take your time, learn and enjoy the process. You only get to do things for the first time once!

Just let us know where you are at and we can guide you in for landing.
