Hello, I have seen a lot of templates out there and when I dissect them into their pieces I see that it should not be too hard to make. My problem is that I don't have any high end graphic designing software like photoshop and at this point in time I don't have the money to purchase them. Does anyone know of free or open source graphic/editing program that can be used for designing web buttons, logos, backgrounds (M$ paint isnt working for me)?

I use notepad to make my HTML and CSS pages. Thanks for the help!

I don't know of any free programs, but I use PhotoImpact 6. It only cost me about 35 bucks a few years ago. Not sure what it goes for now. It is the easiest program I have ever used.

I usually use GIMP (http://www.gimp.org). It's free and it's pretty good.

For buttons, I typically like the css-based navigation bars, so they are not buttons per se, but they function the same way.
