Need Help Removing an Image
Any help would be appreciated. I use XsitePro and put an EzineArticle button on my website (a proud moment) and now would like to remove it. I have removed the HTML code from the source page and the image from the design page. When I preview it through the program it does not show up. I've saved the changes and republished. However, it still remains when I look at it live on the web. Can't figure out. I also tried clearing my cookies, history, temp files and such. No Luck. Any Suggestions?
Thanks!
Andrea

Could there be a delay between the amount of time you publish and it goes live?

Not normally
Hi Lisa,
There usually isn't much of a delay if any. However, I was working on this yesterday and did think that it could be a possibliity so I waited. When I checked today (and again a little bit ago) it stills shows up. Any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Andrea
BTW, I appreciate this forum and your attention to it. I have noticed you respond rather quickly. I did go by the XSitePro forum first but my last post over 10 days ago is still unanswered. So....Thank you for being here!!

Hi Andrea,
If you are comfortable doing it, it may be easier for me, Lisa, or others to see the page. If you give us a link, I can quickly take a look at the source code and see if there is anything that needs to be removed.

Hi Andrea,
As Sherif said, a link so we can check out your code would be the easiest. If that's not comfortable for you, try this: Remember, most outside links, such as ezinearticles, will have code in more than one place in your page code. You may have removed only part of it. Go through the entire code and look for something similar to this.
<a href="http://Ezinearticles.com/" target="_blank">
<img title="Visit Ezine articles" alt="Click here for Ezine Articles" src="http://EzineArticles.com/whatever our button is.jpeg or .gif" border="5">
</a>
Make sure all that is gone and also, if you have an image of the button in your site folder (not sure if they host it or you do, it varies) remove that as well.
If that doesn't work, we'll try something else.
Hope that helps.

The Info you requested
Hey Sherif & Roger,
I have no problem giving you the site. It is http://www.cre8cash.com If you need anything else please do let me know. I did remove it on another site no problem. I'm going to check to make sure I didn't miss something. Thanks for all your help!

Hey Andrea,
The code is almost at the bottom of your page.
Delete all of this:
<a href="http://EzineArticles.com/" target="_new"><img title="As Featured On Ezine Articles" alt="As Featured On Ezine Articles" src="http://EzineArticles.com/featured/images/e6_blue.gif" border="0"></a> <script type="text/javascript">
That should get rid of it for you.

Hi Bot,
Not sure where you are seeing this code, It is no where to found on the source page inside XSitePro. Then again, the image itself does not show up within XStite Pro preview or design pages - just Live!
Any other suggestions?

Removing picture
In the XSitePro knowledge base you will find this instruction:
"Can I edit the HTML?
Solution
The Designer part of XSitePro takes away the need to enter HTML code as it does it all for you, but if you ever want to take a look at the code or edit it you can do so by clicking on the Source tab.
We realise that sometimes it is useful to have access to the source as there are some things that are either difficult or impossible to do in a WYSIWYG editor. You will be able to add custom scripts of your own, or edit the HTML. These can all be done easily in the Source tab."
Following this procedure will open your "yourhomepage.index" file which is what you see when you right click and choose view page source on your web page. This allows you to edit the page code directly.
Just delete the part DotComBot indicated, save and "publish" as they call it.
Good Success!
James

Follow James' instructions and it should get rid of it after you publish. I've never used Xsitepro so I have no idea how it's configured. I can tell you that the reason it doesn't show up in your editor is because it calls (retrieves) the image live on the net from the ezinearticles site. So unless your editor is in constant contact with the internet it is not able to retrieve the image when the code calls for it, it has no source for that image.

Thanks all for caring and sharing. Unfortunately everything I try doesn't seem to work. The BIG mystery seems to be the fact that NO code or image appears on my "source" and/or "design" page inside the XSite Pro software. It only appears live! I'm guessing there is code hidden somewhere else, possibly in files elsewhere, just have to find the time to poke around my computer. The fact that I'm totally baffled and not a computer wiz has prevented me from really digging for the answer.
Thanks ALL!
Always Grateful,
Andrea

Andrea,
What hosting company do you use. Is it possible to edit the html directly on the server? That may be an option. If you don't know how to do that I can help walk you through it.
You may want to check with ezinearticles directly and see if there is something special you need to do to remove it.

Also, XSitePro customer service may have more insight on how to access all of the code.

Maybe you deleted the image on your computer, but it isn't deleted from your server folder.
