Right now, I just bought website hosting service, and I'm already in deep doodoo. As some of you know, I'm planning to create a halo fansite. How do I make a site? I'm a total beginner.

after doing all the reading and have a good concept of creating a website, you can check out some open source content management program like Joomla, e107 for creating your fansite.

As foong suggested you can go for the CMS option, or mess around with some HTML/CSS based templates and go to know your way around by customizing someone esles.
