Default cms entry

We currently have fields in our cms for first and last names. Could anyone suggest a way (other than an underscore) of writing someone's two part name in our cms so that it doesn't return a 404 error. If there is a blank space, for example: Julie Travers, it returns a 404 error. If we use an underscore, for example Julie_Travers, the underscore is visible to the public.

This might be something that we need to discuss with our developer, but, for the time being, I'm looking for a short-term solution.

As always I appreciate any input.

Many thanks.

I would have also suggested a underscore but as you said it shows to the public.

Thanks for giving it some thought.

I look forward to hearing other ideas.

Which CMS are you using? and can you send an example link?

One way of encoding blank spaces in urls is to write it as %20 eg.:

http://mydomain.com/Frank%20Black.htm

Hope this helps.

Thanks for weighing in, Kiaii. I did try using %20 but that didn't work either.
The cms is a custom panel built by the developer. My sense is that I will have to bring it up with him to get it resolved.

I appreciate your input.
