I never used Joomla but it seems that you really need sit down and learn how to use it. I got very impatient with Joomla and I switched to Drupal. There are a lot of Drupal tutorials on youtube and some really good ones. Joomla not so much. The Drupal forum is also very active more than likely your question will be answered if you put it in the right section.

You can go on youtube and search for learnbythedrop. Rob is very informative and I learned a lot of things from him. I also had to learn some stuff by myself as well but it was pretty easy.

The only con I can think of for Drupal is the templates or themes aren't all that great. Joomla has better themes or whatever the Joomla community calls them. Drupal is a lot more newbie friendly. You really don't need to no any css. But the more you know the better you can customize.

Hope that helps. You can take a look at my site it's a Drupal site. But it doesn't look like must Drupal sites because I outsourced.

Someone else here on the forum can give you the pros and cons of Joomla

I use Joomla for my website and I love it. I will admit though, that there is a definate learning curve for Joomla. I find the Joomla forum very helpful, willing to answer any question. There are some good Joomla tutorials out there on You Tube as well. Best of luck.

Well... The main advantages of these two are: Joomla provides many good quality templates/design stuff...while Drupal is more suitable for programmers and is better for the website's functionality.
One drawback for Drupal would be the lack of good themes. Drupal has a better SEO page titles/description/urls and so on. The documentation is larger for the Drupal CMS. The user system is better in Drupal. The shopping cart is better in Joomla. Commercial Comunities are better in Joomla.
So you see, they are almost equal, thus many discussions about which is better. If you are looking for functionality, sacrificing beauty , you should choose Drupal and start installing those modules. If you want a website that looks good but doesn't have that much functionality, you should choose Joomla. I tried Drupal, and as an example check the website in my signature. Cheers

I don't know that cause i don't work with videos on my site. However, a solution for this problem may be signing up for you tube and posting your videos there. Then copy/paste the embed code on your joomla/drupal site . Check the frontpage of my site again to see the embeded video

Does your hosting provider have Instalatron or Fantastico? You could create a subdomain on your website and test it there. Your problem may be from the relation with the database, which you don't have to worry about if Drupal is automatically installed on your subdomain.
