There are so many out there you need check each one out and ask yourself which one you fill comfortable with and than stayy with one till have learned what you can do with it.

I see members jumping from one to other and not get anywhere same way they jump from program to program.

CMS is just a program that you need to setup that way you want for your website.

It depends on what you want on the domain? A blog, website, ecommerce ?

Use wordpress. Get a custom designed theme. Wordpress is easy to update. Some people also say drupal is good. But I haven't really noticed that. When I installed drupal into one of my site, it did not seem easy to modify. Maybe because I did not take time to learn how to use it.

Wordpress is designed for a blog and than if you want to customize it for your needs you need to install plug ins that you will have to search for online.

If your asking for CMS input......
I've used PHP Nuke, Mambo and E107 and I prefer E107 by far.
E107 was much easier to customize/modify.

In the end, I'm with Nblufire12, but worpad works much better than notepad!!

If as you say you want it for a website and not just a blog then go for joomla, it is by far the best cms for a traditional website and has a massive community who contribute many free add ons. It can be fairly hard to learn but is well worth it.
Wordpress would be far better if you want a blog type site

jeff21up is right. But that doesn't mean you can't use WordPress to build a website. You just need some knowledge to make it looks like a traditional website.

One advantage of using WordPress is that it has a HUGE community.(maybe the biggest) So you can find tons of free templates and free plugins to make your site feature-rich.

As for me, wordpress is one of the best CMS you can use. Joomla is a quite hard-to-code CMS.
