i am a total newbie. i am trying to download wordpress to create a website. i am learning as i go along. i dont know much about anything still. i just realized i need an ftp to upload the wordpress files. i downloaded filezilla and now im totally lost. can someone please help?

First open FileZilla up,

Secoundly, File > Site Manager or Ctrl + S

Click "New Site", name it what you want.

Find out your FTP details from your host, you need Host, Port, Account and Password to continue.

Once completed filling in the feilds select OK

Then on the icon below "File drop down box" click the little side arrow >

Finally select the site you would like to connect to.

Whala you should be connected to your FTP if you entered the details correctly.

Using an FTP service such as FileZilla you can set file permissions, create folders, move files, upload files, and delete files much better than the old fashioned web file uploaders!

Just ask for further help.

maybe i didnt download it right. i cant get to a site manager. i can only get to a window that says filezilla server and it says im logged on. i dont really have any options from that page.
