I want my site visitors to be able to download content off of my site. How do I make a download link and upload the files??

the way I do it is that I upload the file, let's say it's an mp3 file, to a folder on my server.

Then on the page where I would want my site visitors to download it, I post a link to the mp3 file (e.g. mysite.com/mp3/filename.mp3).

Then, I just give them instructions on how to download, i.e. right-click and "Save Target As".

Not fancy, I know, but it works

I'm ALMOST positive, but I'm pretty sure when you link to a file not readable by the browser, like an mp3, it automatically opens the download box.
