FileZilla is free but doesn't come with an inbuilt HTML editor, where as Cuteftp does. However, you can configure filezilla to open up your editor of choice if you want to edit the files on the fly.
I would suggest Notepad++. It is a very light editor, free, open source and provides color coding for html and other languages.
We've used a couple of FTP programs, but now I'm just using my browser which I find much easier. I browse with Firefox, but have to use IE for FTP access which is ok. I much prefer accessing my FTP this way, it's easy, fast & simple.
Well let me just say I am lovin' Filezilla. I have been using WSFTP since 1998 and sometimes it's hard to switch away from something you know, even if it is archaic. I saw this thread and decided to give Filezilla a try and you guys are right. It's fab!
