I have found another excellent ftp tool + html editor. It is www.htmlkit.com. The tool is free and can be expanded to add many few features like css code snippets, etc by downloading plug-ins.

HTML KIT also includes a way to preview the html code in different browsers, without actually opening the browsers. This is very cool in my opinion.

I am still playing with it and I will later write a software review highlighting its merits and demerits.

any one tried out this editor name : Arachnophilia??? I've heard that it too is a html editor cum ftp program. Here's the link:

Actually CoffeeCup itself is a pretty good editor.

Hi,
I want to upload about 300 MB data on my webserver. they are all images and some text file.
I am using good speed DSL. Speed is good but it is not reliable. It got disconnect some time.
Can some please refer me some good ftp software which do the following
i want to start uploading the files at night.
it will automatically upload all the files
it will ignore the files which are already on the server
and if my net got dc. it will automatically retry and upload all the files without monitoring.

I like to write all my sites with SciTE, (free, scintilla.org/SciTE.html) and I use FireFTP (free). FireFTP is a FireFox plug-in. SciTE has code highlighting, code folding, and support for practically every language you will ever use.

Use Smart FTP, it has worked for me very good and never fail.

I did'nt get through all the posts but I did see that filezilla was brought up a few times, the greatest part of filezilla however was not.

FileZilla is a portable application and this is kicka$$ to anybody on the move.

You can put the full install on a thumbdrive and take it anywhere. If you have multiple sites this is a nice feature, it saves all the sites and there authentication info for your quickconnect feature.

I really like this app for this reason, and it simply works, no multi connect problems like some ftp apps, no mem. overhead or other problems just a clean working, functional ftp proggie.
