Finally, something to share...
I've been reading the SBI books on CSS and HTML coding (Thanks James!), I've subcribed to Lynda.com, I've been posting questions/answers here for the last month or so, I'm working to obtaining a copy of Dreamweaver and I still have a goal to own an SBI website (in the future); however, for some reason lately, I have felt a strong desire to get something going NOW. Guess I got tired of being afraid to fail and no matter how much reading I do, the proof ends up being in the pudding. So here it goes...
www.resourceful-mom.com
I plan to incorporate ads and I have several pages and posts drafted so this is definately in the beginning stages but I wanted to get your opinion thus far.

Is this a personal blog? I don't get the direction if where your trying to go just yet. Are you going to be talking about your experiences or helping other moms. What is your goal for this blog?

Actually both. Through sharing my experiences, I hope to help other moms. The "pages" will cover specific topics; however, the blog will be random tidbits.
Do you think there would be a better way to relay this goal?

Sounds like a good plan to me. That's the basic layout of many web sites, including this one.

I love your blog so far. Your posts are fun to read and informative. The color scheme is my only gripe, but I love flashy colors so don't mind me. {LOL} I think you have something great goin' on. If you can keep writing content like this you will be fine.

BreLove,
I like your writing style and the colors are fine with me. I think you should add some images that would make the stories more attractive (or humorous) for your readers. Also, I don't see any tags on your posts, so you should add some soon.
I wish you all the best!

Good decision!
BreLove, you have done just the right thing. Absolutely for sure.
You are sure to succeed. Why? Because you can write a decent sentence and do it with style. Not everyone can do that and it is hard to learn. Everything else is easy, sometimes tedious and time consuming, but not impossible.
Two points. First, doing things online is almost essential for learning; reading alone just won't do it. For that reason you will learn much more quickly now as you can try out what you read about. Also, because you are trying to do something real you will know what is worth learning and won't waste so much time trying to figure out what doesn't make any difference anyway.
Second, yes you do need a theme. But you have started with one. While what you have written is personal (adding a uniqueness that is good) it is on a theme of "coping" and your domain name so identifies it so I would stick with it. And actually, that does leave you with a lot of lee way. You may find that a lot of other moms will find great motivation by reading you.

James and Ilene, thank you for the advice! Exactly what I needed! You're right, now I can implement only what I need.
I'm looking through Wordpress Themes for something more catching to the eye.

Hi BreLove!
Congratulations on getting off the side and into the water! It's really exciting when the point is reached that you just want to "do" something with the knowledge you've been acquiring, and then, you DO it.
As the others have shared, you have a great voice in your writing style. Also, in my opinion and experience, it's good that you are writing and posting in your own blog, first, in case you eventually want to re-write then "publish" your articles elsewhere online. This way you have established the piece as your own.
Again, great job!
Until next time...Annie

As long as you stay focused on your goal your bound to succeed. I was just making sure you had a clear vision of what you wanted, and you do which is great.

Thanks for all the feed back!
Annie - I didn't know that I could re-write to publish later on. Good to know.

Hi BreLove,
Places I have "published" articles are with Ezine, Article Alley, on HubPages and my blog. If I wanted to take an already published article and submit it someplace new, I would do minor re-writes so it wouldn't be a copy-cat of itself. It's important to do that so the search engines don't penalize you thinking the additional publications were "copied".
TBH, my 2nd or 3rd "spins" typically produced even better quality, a little tweak here or a new angle there never hurt!
