Default The Knowledge Reactor

My website if finally online. Been working all summer on it, planing, drawing, writing, brainstorming. Let me hear what all of you have to say.

Please bear in mind that the site just got online and that there are only 2-3 articles on the site at this moment. Got some empty space which I will fill over time and with Google Ads in a few months. The site is also in two languages, all of the content is translated by me and it takes a lot of time so it's going slow but steady.

I just realized it looks terrible in IE 8 ... why, Microsoft, WHY?!

I spent over a week making it look good on IE 6 thinking "IE 6 is old and doesn't show stuff right, let's fix it up" and now I see that IE 8 shows it 10 times worse than IE 6

Time to go make another .css file.

I managed to solve the problem by adding the:

Code:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />
line in front of the head tag ... that makes it render the website with the IE 7 engine which seems to look better.

So what do you guys and girls think of the site?

Overall I like it. Very good use of the three columns. The one thing that stuck out to me was the logo. I don't know if it's the white stroke around the lettering but it just doesn't seem very clear.

Your Welcome image at the top of your content column looks to me like it would make a better logo than a column header. I actually like that better than what you're using for the logo. If you could somehow incorporate the brain into that image I think that would make a nice logo for the site.

Just my 2 cents.

I had a feeling that would be an issue. Thank you for the 2 cents Lisa

Ow and yea, I'll see if I can work a bit on that logo.

It looks good overall. Nice clean feel. If I changed anything, it would be the font size in your navigation. Kinda tiny.

Thank you for the advice Dee, I will make the font a bit bigger and see how it looks. What do you think about the logo and the issue Lisa mentioned?

I've changed the logo, what do you think about it now?

I like you site too. I could use a bit more knowledge about CSS as that is what most of Wordpress is about. Looks like you're on your way to making a very useful place on the Internet.

Good luck.

Thank you expat and btw the site is made in Joomla not Wordpress ... but yea, knowing CSS can get you places in webdesign that's for sure.
