The background is a little busy. For some reason, the foreground and background are not centered in my view. I'm using IE7.

Interesting profession. Never knew about that.

I agree with Dee on the background. It's a bit busy for my taste as well. But other than that, I do like the overall layout.

Thank you Dee and Lisa. I guess I should have been more specific in my question. I was really wanting to know if all the pics being the size they are now if it looks alright. The back ground is a topo map [which I have always liked it] maybe the color in it is too dynamic. I haven't acquired the skills to change that type of stuff. Ok I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks again ladies for your input and have a great day

I think they look great and seem appropriate for the size of your template.

I think the photos look great too - they're quite large, but as Lisa says, they fit in with the size of your template.

That background map is really disturbing though - but, since you love it, you don't have to totally get rid of it, perhaps just fade it out a bit, by reducing it's opacity in photoshop, and maybe lose the little diamond shapes all around the edge.

You have a decent amount of text content which is good, as often neglected when displaying quite a few images on a page. Your coding is looking good too, all the correct meta tagging is there - the keywords, title, description, and robot crawl instructions.

Site looks great, photos are just the right size ... but concerning the background I agree with the previously mentioned. To much detail on the background.
Your website is strongly connected to nature right? So this is how I would do it If I was in your position:

1024x756
http://img403.imageshack.us/i/website1.jpg/

Slightly bigger resolution than 1024x756
http://img36.imageshack.us/i/website2o.jpg/

.... on widescreen you should be seeing a lot more nature around the site which would look great.

I used this image that I found off Google image search: http://www.devilsthumbranch.com/dtr/...owFenceWeb.jpg

Obviously it is not mine and I can't really use it but I think you get the idea, it wouldn't be hard to take a photo of something like that if you live in the country or have access to that kind of landscape.

Great point!

I think your website is really nice, I agree with everyone else I think the background is a little too busy.

My only suggestion would be to center the page.

Apart from that fantastic job!

Default A couple of thoughts

Hate to repeat what everyone else is saying, but the background is a distraction. As already suggested, you could soften it a bit and it would be better. The idea is OK but you don't really want it to draw attention away from the content.

Another way to deal with this might be to change the gray border with orange dots to a dark brown using the dark brown from the outside background. That would keep the border from pulling your eyes to the side also and the present border doesn't really relate to the site colors or style.

Personally I would reduce the size on the larger pictures. Others seem to think they are ok so be your own judge. Mostly, though, I would redo a few of them to deal with the quality issue. It looks as if some were first reduced in dpi and then enlarged. In any case they look a little grainy. If you reduce or enlarge to the size you want while still at a higher resolution and then set at the dpi you want it works better.

One thing I would do. On a page this long it is good to have a link at the bottom for jumping back to the top.
