My names rob and after watching lisa's videos i was inspired by the statement "imagine creating a website you actually enjoy" Im slowly building my site (www.hamster-palace.com) Im a basic web user and use basic templates and edit them (with permission of cause)

What i came here for was to see peoples opinions of how i can finish my website, what improvements, how people can find my site, traffic related.

After having lots of failure websites i want to make a success story out of this one i feel passionate about.

So any opinions and help is much apreicated.

I think the main page looks pretty good. Nice choice of colors. But on the message board, i would get rid of the vBulletin logo up top. Other than that I think it looks fine.

Thats just the default theme, I meant to change a different theme that i found to default. Thanks for reminding me!

Rob, thats a cool site and has a lot of information. I love the hamster at the top. The site is very easy on the eyes ie: colors. It is simple, which I like. But beware simple websites can sometimes come across empty. Try and get more photos also add more content aimed at children if you can.

With the breeds section, break each breeds into pages by them selfs. This will add more content and then on each breed page you have room to add more photos of the breed.

Thanks man, yeah im planning on making some more content. I guess im gonna have to get the old notebook and pen out and research some wiki and reword it into bitesize information.

As for the children side how do you suggest i place that in, As my naivigation bar is only small so i can only fit and certain amount of links.

Also do you know any places that would be interests in some articles that i could write eg. category (pets, rodents)

Wow, I love your design. Crisp and clean! And I'm not usually a fan of green but it works so well with your site.

Have you ever thought about matching the background of your Google ads to the background of your site? That way they blend in and don't look so much like ads and more apart of your content. Could help with your click thru ratio.

Although some choose to use a different background because they feel the ads stand out more and could entice people to click, but with my sites I've always had higher CTR when the ads match my background.

It's all subjective though.

Welcome to the family! The site does look good and I agree with everyone's suggestion. Although, I would do a spelling/grammar check especially the Breed section-a few misspellings. what's their life span and diet? Also you have a lot of space on both the left and right sides of your pages you might want to do something...I could be wrong. Keep up the good work.

I like it! The hamster on the top is cute - can you place one in the grass as well? I found myself looking for one in the grass, maybe that's just my problem eh? The colours are easy on the eyes. Yes Hamsters and kids would be a good link it would be a great place for them to get their info.

Nice looking site. Keep in mind you can always have text links to pages that are not necessarily on your nav bar.



Ezine Articles accepts article submissions and you are allowed to place a link to your site in your signature. It's a great way to build your credibility and create inbound links to your site.
