Please review my site

Hello All...

Hope everyone had a great holiday w/e. Time for me to get back to work.

OK, before I get a rash of replies that my site is a blatant ripoff of the million dollar home page, I agree that yes, it is. Has anybody tried one of these sites? I have had it up for about two months and am starting to get decent traffic, a climbing alexa ranking, and some actual revenue.

Is there anything I can do to increase my income here...does anyone think these sites are dumb? I have read a lot of the online discussions about pixel ad sites and how they fizzled already, but I guess if I can fill the grid and make some income then I can laugh about it later. I am always up for trying something new. I have sold a few of the spots through ebay auctions, so that probably accounts for some of the extra traffic.

I'm kinda confused by the home page of the site in general.
Maybe that is just me.....Do anyone feel the same?

I never heard of this? Why would I want to put an ad on a space, that contains a ton of other ads? I would want my ad on a webiste that has something to do with mine....Guess I don't get it ;(

How long have you had it up?

Ive always wanted to do this but never had the time to promote it. So i'm glad that I can see someone else progress and it looks like your on your way to 100,000 dollars.

And since i'm in the question asking mood ill throw another one at you.... Are you sending emails asking if they would want to buy some space on your homepage or are you waiting for them to buy from your homepage.

I have had it up about two months. I did some local phone calling and a few emails, but have not yet done a huge mass email marketing campaign. Starting doing some Google adwords for it. Trying to keep my expenses down, but need to get the awareness, uniqueness going.

Didn't the first person to do this become a millionaire?

I think the idea is great and if you can get allot of visits people will always want to advertise.

Why not throw come affiliate banners on there to make it look a little more popular?

Great idea, this goes down on my ever growing list (I wish I fought of that list)

I see you use a open source script to make the site, cool I guess the only problem is that means allot of people are doing it now.

I have seen this before too. I wouldn't spend any money to advertise on your site, I just think there are better methods of creating traffic.

I do admire the hard work though, I think you would be better of running your own directory. Personal opinion.

I don't run directory site, have been thinking about it. There are so many now you would have to be in it for the long run.

Would I charge? If I had a directory that was established then yes I would.

The problem is if you let any website in the directory the search engines won't value the link. For that reason websites won't be interested in submiting.

Your right allot of people are doing it now.
