Learning to work a text edditor and a little Html was hard but, finally.

Hi, your site looks fine to me. I am using IE 7 and it looks ok. I suppose it could be to do with your text size for IE settings? Open IE and click on page button ( next to tools button). Scroll down till you come to text size option. Adjust this to see if it looks any better. Hope this helps

It looks like a good website. The colors are good, and I think the pictures make it feel like a cooking site. If you want to change anything, maybe you should get a custom logo for the top center instead of what you have.

1. Love the logo but the words; Recipe/Clipboard look blurred to me...(Or maybe it's an old mans eyes, lol!)
2. I think it would look better if the center container and the columns to the left and right were the same height...Just a thought, but maybe add a horizontal border of a slightly darker green to separate the logo and the rest of the layout.
3. The off blue text links don't quite go with the green background, but they kind of grow on you?
4. I would move the footer up to the bottom of the columns and move the page links at the bottom into the container
5. I would place the Privacy Policy along with the Copyright notice in the footer.
6. I would maybe add a recipe search function to the top right column and perhaps move the bookkeeping ad under it.
7. Viewed on Firefox, fast loading...links worked fast.
8. Very nice design, love the colors...except maybe for lite blue text links. Page is fast loading on Firefox, links come up fast, design is simple but fluid and non-cluttered. Page length is just about right. Great job!!

1 the logo I played with for over a week and that was as clear as I could get that logo unless I made it bigger. I am going to put a advertisement on top of it. I have a space in the top and once I put my add up there it will go on all my pages thanks to sbi.

2 the colums are the same size on both sides from top to bottom. if I put the rolling pin on top of that center green bar than that will move down if thats what you mean.
3 I know the blue is a little off, but it grows on you I was going to play with it but been building 10 + pages a day, trying to get this thing up and going as fast as I can.
4 and 5 yes the footer I was going to move you are right also I will have my privacy policy and a few other links below it.
6 the top right thats a good idea
Also I was going to put a google search box on the site thing is the free one I think only does 500 pages and I have way over 500 pages and still adding. I will go to google later and read up on there free search box.
Thanks for you input. Thank you
and I thank everyone that replyed for there feed back

Default Font Issues

The font on your logo is more then likely blurry due to a couple of factors.
1. when you designed your banner it was not done in a 300 .dpi. That is crucial for banners as they normally contain fonts that are not web friendly.

2. You may have forgotten to anti-alias you font before you saved your banner this will clean it up as well.

3. it looks like you might have a glow on your font. If you lighten this glow up or remove it completely it can clear this up. Very rarely does a glow on a font transfer well to the web with out a blur issue.

Default Center title

Your title is off center and it doesn't look too good with the title closer to the right image than to the left one. You may have a difficult time having one image for the banner going over the center column and right column with the name and one picture all in one image file while the left image is in another one. That means that any time people change page size or pixel size the relationship of the three parts across the top will change. I would rework this a bit.

Otherwise the page looks good.

Wonderful site. I even had to bookmark it for further reference. I would center the title like suggested. It would be nice to see a picture of the finished product also.

Good luck and I am hungry now.

Overall this is a nice-looking site. I was going to say the same as James about the off-center header. I would move that logo over to the left more. Also, this is minor, but I think you can remove the vertical lines from |Homepage| I don't think those are needed when you only have one link. It looks kind of crowded.

Thanks agian for all your replys.
and thank you Lisa I would have never even built a site if it was not for finding websitebabble back in december of 2007.
the top of my site has two cells on your left is the chef the picture is in a box a cell and the rest of the header accross the top is one cell of its own. so when you look at the header it is really in the center of its cell, also this site is a fliud design it can expand and shrink and the top will move a little when this is done. that is how the template is set up. but yes I can make a little adjust ment and get it a little more over.
I could add a third cell to the top also.
the line on the side of homepage, i am going to add a link on each side of that, just did not get to it yet.
building a website is a lot of work takes many many hours but its fun I enjoy this. thank you again for your replys

Default Advice..

You received enough good advice here to re-float the ARK, lol! I like Kell's advice on the logo..he is helping me with mine also...I didn't know about the 300dpi and anti-alias either, so thank him profusely....

Default two good ways

There are two good ways to fix the header spacing balance. It depends on what you can do with your template and your knowledge of the code as to which is easiest for you.

You can separate the right image as you seem to be suggesting and put it essentially at the top of the right column (just as the left side is) or you can put the left image into the same tag as the title and right image and let it expand from side to side. Either way can work.

There is no way to eliminate the problem with the two sections as they are because different monitor sizes or people choosing different font sizes for viewing will mess it up one way or another.

It's a good looking site, (I used Firefox to open it), but still needs improvement to make it more SEO-friendly. I suggest you create a Sitemap, that'll help your pages get indexed by SEs much faster. You also have too many keyword phrases in your tags. Revise that.
