One of your boxes and an advertisement are over lapping. You should fix that.

it seems that you are still struck at nineties. Just update yourself with some cool templates from templatemonster.com that will definitely help you to make a overhaul change in the entire appearance.

Oooh I agree the homepage looks very dated.

If it was my website, here are the things I would change:

1. Get rid of the little icons by the words on the right side of the page, under "Must Have's" and "Most Recent".

2. Make the boxes solid blue, not fading from blue to white.

3. Move all of your content to the middle of the page

4. Get rid of the "..." after your logo. Maybe design something in a fun font, or come up with a catch-phrase to go under it.

5. Make your ads a little less obvious. Putting another one on there might actually do this, but you'll have to play around with it for sure.

I really like the idea for the content of your site... I hope what I've said helps!
