Check out my new Blog
Hello again Joel here,
I would like to ask all of you to take a look at my new glog and tell me what you think.
http://www.best-pixels.com
I'm looking for comments on the Google Adsense ads, look at the top of the page and tell me if that Leaderboard ad from Google looks good there.
Also you're free to check other things as well.
Thanks Joel

Hi Joel,
I'd move the Google ads below your header. The ads are rather large and taking much of the space on the first screen. If you move it within the posts somewhere, you can get more of your content displayed on the crucial first screen.
Just play around with the ad placements to see what you like better.
Just my opinion.

Thanks TechieGuy,
I already re-insert the adsense ad under the navigation buttons, I think now is better than before and doesn't take any front page.
Thanks
Joel

Hi Joel
The ads look to me as if they are covering up something, almost like there is a coding error and you have a box floating in space. I think they would look better inside your actual content (flowing along side, etc.). I realize you are trying to call them out, but in my opinion they look to be taking over your site.
I love your site's design though. Nice header!!

Joel, this is a bit off-topic but I had to ask since I just read your blog and saw your post about Vista's service pack. I just bought a PC with Vista a month ago. What are your thoughts on Vista? I personally hate it and have been warning everyone not to switch unless you HAVE to. My programs have been crashing like crazy and I have to re-start at least once per day because of a browser or program crash.

Lisa,
Well my thoughts about Windows Vista are:
1- First of all doesn't work for me, consume to much memory resources.
2- Doesn't provide good support to a 1 year pc's, my laptop been only one year with me and when I tried to installed Windows Vista upgrade I had to remove most of the Toshiba software that came with my laptop due to compability problems.
3- Windows Vista eats to much laptop battery - Not good for me
Windows Vista is the next eXperience and whether we like or not we have to use it, why is that? well Microsoft announced it will stop providing updates and service pack to Windows XP.
So what I can say for now Windows XP is much much better, consumes less and do more. On the hand Windows Vista has better GUI (Graphic User Interface) but lacks of compability with last year computers.
So Lisa keep warning everyone you can to NOT upgrade Windows XP to Windows Vista because they will regret it.

Hi,
Don't mind me, but I'd thought I'd post my thoughts about Vista as well.
As with any new Windows version, it takes time for software vendors to update their applications to work with Vista. I now that AVG (anti-virus) and ZoneAlarm (software firewall) are now supported on Vista. I use both now without any problems.
As for battery life, Vista does appear to use more battery power than XP. the big difference, however, is Vista has much more control on how your computer runs when on battery. Such things as reducing the power consumption of your processor when on battery is one of the options within Vista.
One of the big tips is to dump the Aero (Microsoft's new buzz word) look of Vista while running on a battery, and stick with the classic gray Windows look. The Aero look requires your graphics card to do more processing, which will use more power. On my laptop I can get roughly 2-3 hours of battery life. I have more tips on my blog on conserving battery life.
As Joel mentioned, Microsoft will stop support for XP and go full tilt with Vista, so eventually you cannot avoid moving to the new operating system. Personally, I haven't had any issues with Vista, such as crashes, I just don't like the interface.
My two cents.

I will say that I do like the GUI of Vista but that's about it. Gosh, I hope that service pack helps with some of the issues. If my computer tells me one more time that "Firefox has stopped working" (when it's working just fine!) I am going to scream.

Webdev,
JR PC Repair is not a blog, this website provides basic computer repair guidance. I know I download the theme from the Internet but don't remember right now where.
