Default Would Really Appreciate Feedback

Hello everyone,

I would really appreciate some feedback, comments, and/or advice on the home page of my Internet security & privacy site - http://www.internetsecurity101.net. I am using a template that I got from oswd.org, that I have modified. Thanks so much in advance.

I like it! It drew me in with hard-cold facts and information that I didn't know. Made me interested in clicking deeper into the site but I quickly found that you didn't have any other page built yet. Oh well great start keep going...

P.S. Like that pic with that dude lookin over the lady's shoulder, nice touch speaks volumes.

P.P.S. One thing I was confused about is was I really on the homepage because usually on the navbar on most sites it has a homepage label or something. But I guess that's optional although I feel it may help visitors with navigation as you build more pages.

One final note: I wold suggest holding off on all monetization including Adsense until you at least fill build your traffic and establish your site a bit more. I believe in the Sitesell CTPM method (Content~Traffic~PREsell~Monetize!)

I would not leave those broken links in the page; Google can penalize your site for that. Just direct them to pages saying something like "Under construction" or leave them to be just text until you actually add the corresponding page.

I like the design Chris, good job.
Just a small tip for you, don't use that many font sizes and styles and typrs on one page.
to your success, cheers

the various fonts are bit distracting and they are not emphasising ( if it was your intention)

Thanks MH-Yodi for the advice. I took your advice and just removed a couple of fonts. Do you think I should remove the bold text. My intention of the bold text is indeed to emphasize.

Also, I think I might have too much content on the Home page of my site. Do you think I need to edit the content on my index page?

Thanks again for taking the time to give me feedback.

I like the site, its informative but not intrusive. I guess in my opinion maybe a roll over color on links, but that's just me. The blue box on the right side with text in it I thought was a bit much only because my eyes kept looking at it every time I read text near it. But I think it's a great site!

Nice job chrisinbc...a couple of things... use the same font for the main content. Maybe the "Impact" font would look more professional. I would take out the blue line border on all the web pages Just use the border ="0" attribute to accomplish this.

Remember these are only my opinions others may have a different view.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback on my website. I really appreciate it.

That's a good idea to remove the border on all my images. I'm headed out the door in a minute, so I don't have time now to remove the borders. However, when I get a chance I'm going to see what my site looks like with images without the border. I looked at a few well known websites and noticed that their images did not have borders.

Thanks again Paul.

I like it, you provide a lot of good information. It keeps you reading, which is
good. The visuals help break up the text . That blue box is a bit distracting though.

I agree on the blue box distraction. However, I think you need more color also. I would use a softer blue like: #c2d0da. I would also use it in my header and the links on the left.

Are you planning to put something under the navigation? As you scroll down, it gets empty over there.

I love the way you use your graphics to convey your message. Especially the spooky guy behind the girl. I almost looked behind myself when I saw that.

The site seems to be very helpful. You did an over all good job.
