I subscribe to a daily inspirational quotes site. They send me a quote in email every day. I like some and don't like some, but when I find one that I really like, I generally go visit the quotes site to see other quotes from the author. That might be some functionality you should consider to build your subscriber base and also drive traffic back to the site.

hi mack your site has great potential because you have an addictive niche
if someone browses your site he could stay there alot

but you have to add more design into the site believe me it'll make a big difference , but good job
