nice blog siyab. i like your post on website stats.

you know what would be cool if you wrote a tutorial on how to use google analytics or stats counter. that way you may get more people signing up to these services. not sure if stats counter has affiliate program.

Great site siyab. I like how you broke down your posts into categories. Makes your blog much easier to navigate.

Question though. I'm noticing a lot of "how to build a site" websites popping up here. Are you guys finding that it's difficult to get much traffic? Just curious because I was thinking of doing one too but I see so many of them and the topic just seems so saturated.

thanks for the suggestions all of you!

I think you are right about the tutorial, webdev. I'll make one soon.

ppcfanatic, I think that many websites are centered towards how to make a website and then earn money from it. I think that a lesser amount actually focus on ways to promote it. Well, let's see. I've submitted my blog to services like Digg and reddit. Let's see whether that brings traffic or not.

PS. BTW, do you guys know of any affiliate program which I can use for my blog??

Hey siyab,

You can promote affiliate programs on your blog or are you asking if you can get accepted into a program without a site and only a blog?

well I have a site now and a blog too. I wanted to know of affiliate programs which would accept me in. I have this newly registered domain name and am uploading my files to it.

You should be able to get into any program as long as your site is launched. Have you tried some of the big networks like www.cj.com, www.linkshare.com ?

I have tried with Click Bank, but they do not accept me cuz my country(Pakistan) is not supported by them. About the others, many require that you have to be above 18, and since I'm only 15, I cannot join.

Hey guys,

I've added a basic tutorial on using StatCounter. It's not complete yet. I've only explained how to register and set up the counter. Next, im going to explain how to use it. For now, please tell me how it is! Here's the link

syiba, you're so right. Most "create blog or website" sites i stumble upon talk about to create a site, then slap adsense on the pages and get in bound links and all but there never talk in depth about how to get visitors or how to get back links.

Most people later realize that just by slapping couple pages with adsense is not gonna make you any money when they don't have any traffic.

Many people probably create those Web sites to make a quick buck. When I have a programming question, I usually go to the sites that have nice content. I don't care about the ads that appear as I usually ignore them.

siyab: I see that you and I chose the same blogger template. I went with the green version.

Yeah techie guy! But I changed the color of the sidebar because adsense ads woudln't nicely blend in the sidebar
