Default An Ethical Car Salesman Website?

Well, here it is... EthicalCarSalesman.com

I know it needs a lot of work. What I am looking for feedback on is:

1.) The concept of what I am trying to do. This is definitely a niche market... one I am employed in. I want the site to be legitimate and provide a valuable resource for linking car shoppers with genuinely ethical car salesmen. Do you think there is a market for something like this?

2.) The layout and functionability. I am probably going to switch everything over to a social networking style script by the end of the month though. I just can't decide on what program to use.

3.) Any other thoughts or suggestions you would like to offer.

Thank you in advance.

Default hi Dave

The concept is really great, I like it a lot.

but what I don't like is you putting everything inside a box with gaps between them,
also the text should be aligned left not centre,
also I can see around 5 different font sizes in the home page which makes it non relaxing for the eyes,
one more thing why does each page have a different background colour?

sorry if I have to many comments, but it's just my opinion.

Thank you.

I removed the gaps... I will reconsider realigning the text to the left. The problem is, the cheap program I am using will not allow me to only align the body of the paragraph left without also moving the paragraph heading left as well. The entire text box has to be aligned the same way.

I agree. I need to change that.

Just trying different things.... I don't like any of them. I need to focus on getting the background the way I like it and making the rest of the site uniform.

I definitely appreciate your comments. You were a big help.

Anyone else?

The overall layout is pretty nice but in the future I'd work on either creating or hiring someone to do a custom logo for you. Something about the text only header just makes it look a little outdated.

Also, any reason why you did not put the disclaimer on a separate page and just link to it? I'm assuming you just want to make sure people see it. I just think a link in a more prominent place would look better than it does in the footer. Plus you could use that space for ads or other important links.

I would definitely lose the visit counter. They make a site appear amateur-ish and if your site is not getting a lot of traffic then you don't want your site to look untrafficked.

Any reason you didn't use the PayPal donation button? This looks like a custom made one. I think if you use the standard PayPal button then it's more recognizable to people and looks more official.

Keep up the good work!

Lisa,

Thanks for taking the time to look at the site.

I agree, I do need a custom logo.

I have the disclaimer on several pages for two reasons. 1. I think it is important for it to be read. 2. It has many of my keywords through out and I thought it would help with SEO. When I am ready to start an ad campaign, I will move it to make room for ads.

Agree about the visitor counter... I removed it after reading your comment.

Believe it or not, I got the Donate button from PayPals website. I need to change it to a different one.

Thanks again Lisa

Hi,

I really like the concept. I think it could do well.

Just one thing...I use Firefox, and I have to scroll to see the right side, the
page doesn't fit onto my screen. I don't know if anyone else has that happen?
