Default Would Really Appreciate Feedback on my Blog

Hi everyone,

A couple of days ago I requested feedback on my blog "Trying to Make Money Online". I hope I'm not coming accross as spammy, but I would be really grateful for any feedback. I have been working hard lately to make my blog more attractive and interesting(a header image, images in my posts, more content, links). Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!

Chris H.

Quite often, no news is good news. Other than a very long page to scroll down, I can't find anything much to comment about. I'm sure I could pick and poke but that would be a waste of your time and mine.

You're not trying to say you have the answers about making money online, but instead discuss the things you have and are doing, which is interesting to read.

I like the way you write, too. Very readable.

Sorry that isn't much but as I said, if people don't jump all over your post it's usually because there isn't much to be said.

Do bear in mind, though, that people may not be available immediately for a number of reasons, so it could be a few days or more before people get time to respond.

It's pretty clean a straight to the point. I would add a little color though. I like how your images are cleverly relevant to your subject.

Default A few thoughts

Chris,

Here are a few thoughts for you.

First, I would work on breaking up the posts if they are to be as long as they are. Your writing is good but the layout is a little "gray" if you are familiar with that journalism term. You could use sub-heads, for example.

It is probably not the best in this case to do the full separated type since you have multiple blogs on the page but you could do simple bold face entries. I am using this style here with my "First" and "Second" to illustrate what I mean.

You did this yourself, with some additional formatting techniques in your article on ten ways to get traffic. That article looks much better than some of the others and is more likely to be read.

Second, I would expand my right column by including more references to articles. Even if they are repeated more than once (may not be necessary), you could have perhaps three lists. For example, you might have something like "Feature Articles" (ones that may be longer and what you think your best) and "Most Viewed."

Default Thankyou For Your Feedback/Suggestions

Thanks everyone so much for taking the time to visit my blog and give me some excellent feedback. I really appreciate it. By the way, Lisa if you are reading this I wrote in my last post about my experience with FreeYellow, which is very similiar to yours.

James, using bold text and sub headers to break up my posts is a great idea. I myself find it a lot easier to read posts and articles which have been broken up with sub headers, etc. Rather than just reading long lines of prose. I was also thinking of perhaps using some small images throughout my posts to break it up more.

Also, having three lists of posts(most viewed, etc.) in my right margin I think is an awesome suggestion. I've read blogs that do this and it certainly increases my chances of reading posts in the blog.

Alpha7, I will certainly consider adding color to my blog as well, though not too much. It is just my opinion but I think too much color makes a blog/website harder to read.

Thanks everyone so much for your complements as well. I'm glad that I seem to be on the right track with my content anyways.
