site review, but for a different reason
Hey Y'all-
I'm requesting a site review specifcally for my google ads placement.
I try to place the ads in such a way that will not annoy or distract my reader, but I end up putting the ads in the same way/format on all of my pages and I'm afraid that since the ads have the same type of placement on each page, they will become unnoticable to my reader as people get used to seeing them in the same spots, and my number of clicks will start to drop.
Is this a legitimate concern? Or am I thinking to much about it?
I would appreciate anyone who can take a quick peek. (I do not have ads on my homepage, but they are on every other page.

Thanks!!
Liz

Hi Liz. Personally I like where your Adsense is placed. And I do think you may be thinking too much about it. Adsense is a nice way to generate income but do you want it to take way from your other affiliate merchants? I use Adsense in more of a complementary way as added information a reader may find of interest. But only if I don't mind that they leave my site. if I feel that my affiliate merchants are more important then I won't even add Adsense or I may put it below my content. I'm not sure if this helps or not. By the way, I think your site looks great and I wouldn't change the placement. Take care and all the best.

hi there-
thanks for taking a look and thanks for the compliments! your feedback is helpful and as I suspected, I was thinking too much about it! Good point on the affiliates, I do think it's important to make sure nothing takes away from those.
thanks again!

I agree you may be overthinking it a bit as well. Remember Google allows you to setup up channels so you can always experiment with placement. Try placing ads at the top of your article on 3 or 4 pages and then on another 3 or 4 pages keep them as you have them now. See which channels give you the highest click thrus. So if you're concerned that they look the same on every page you can always switch it up. It's one of those things you'll never really know unless you take advantage of setting up channels and playing around with placement.
Nice pic by the way.

I think your ads are perfect the way they are. They blend in nicely and you really don't want them to detract from your actual content. If this did happen, most people would just disregard your site (The site looks great, by the way )
Lisa has a very good point also. Perhaps you should experiment and place the ads on some pages across the top or something else. But, unless your revenue declines hugely, I think they are perfect just as they are!
