My Grandfather just passed away about a month ago, my family never thought about going online to read what should be do next. Instead we called a funeral and they talked us through and we proceeded.

But if someone were to look online for a helpful site on what to do. If I were in that situation I would exit your site because of the fact I would see all that text on the first page and my mind would be boggled on all that to read, I would of most likely exit. And yes lots of people have said this before, to move most of the beginning page content to other pages, I would say yes-move all that text to other pages in smaller sections and on the homepage give a summary of how you would explain on how to plan a funeral. Just loosing someone and reading a short summary about it, they might bookmark it or remember the site and then come back later to the site and review the rest of the content when they are feeling better and aren't so boggled.

Good luck with your site! I like it so far !
EDIT: As I read deeper into the site I read that it is about planning one before someone/that person passes away. But your guide could also be for people trying to plan a funeral after someone passes away. -again, good luck

Thanks for your input. You are correct my focus is BEFORE a death occurs. I do this for a living. I am planning on making some changes to address this issue. My site was desinged to PRE-Plan or prearrange a funeral. For all the reasons listed on my site.

Sorry, I didn't read enough to realise that. But I agree that it could cover before and after.

And maybe a rebrandable freebie other related, non-competing site owners could stamp their name in and make available on their sites would serve you well.

A search for 'make a rebrandable book' will get you info on doing that...

Default Real improvement

Bruce,

You page looks a lot better. Quite good.

A couple of other ideas for consideration.

One, there are some coding errors that are bound to cause some trouble but are not hard to fix.

A lot of your paragraphs (perhaps all? I didn't check that long) have opening but not closing tags. There needs to be a <p> at the beginning and a </p> to mark the end on each one. The same pattern should be true for most tags, all but the self closing ones.

On the line you are using as a subtitle. "PREARRANGEMENT" you have two <p> tags instead of one in front and none after.

<P><P>PREARRANGEMENT

Instead of the <p> tag I would recommend a header tag, <h2>. This has several advantages, one important one being the potential for easier styling, but besides that search engines pick up headers. For that reason, I would put a better search beneficial title like "Funeral Prearrangement" and change the case from all caps (not usually recommended) to title format so that it becomes something like:

<h2>Funeral Prearrangements</h2>

Then I would find several more places to insert headers like this. It would help your page look better and assist with SEO as well.

You are doing well. It is great to watch those on the site who are continually improving their sites. Keep up the good work.
