Template design???

Hi Everyone

Been a long time, anyway...

I am currently thinking of updating a website I have, originally I got the domain name for something else I was going to do but the idea was too much work for me to maintain etc so I created a quick template and added a few scripts then left it.

It turns out the current website is making a little revenue now so I am looking to update it and maximise the revenue and usability etc.

The current website is running @ http://mixdownload.net and you will see it is all over the place and unorganized (quick fix).

The new design I have come up with it located here

There are some formatting issues still on the template as it is still being developed.

I am looking for feedback on the template and any ideas about monetization, I am thinking of dropping Google Adsense from this site and using another program for adverts under the left hand navigation (What program would you use? or should I keep Adsense?) and any ideas really.

I am planning on adding reviews of websites that offer free tools and downoads and having them within the directory giving the site plenty of content rather than just links, I am also going to add a comment system on each topic where people can post reviews and feedback etc.

Thats it really, any feedback would be appreciated (negative is the best lol)

I really like that your new design doesn't take up the entire page. It's easier to read when the content sits in a smaller container. AdSense is probably one of the best contextual programs because they generally have the highest earnings overall, so I'm not sure what you're looking for. If I may ask, why are you thinking of dropping them?

But there are a number of programs you can choose from that will fit well with your site. Have you joined any of the larger networks like ShareASale, LinkShare or CJ? Once you join, you can search their network and find tons of related affiliate programs to add to your site. I've been very happy with ShareASale lately.

Thanks for the feedback lisa, that is great.

This is going to sound mad but the site is making money with adsense at the moment and I also have my other stes that are running adsense, so I was thinking of trying another program for a few months jut to see if it changes the income in any way. If there is a drop or no change then I can always go back.

Anyway that was the idea

I have an account with commission junction, and have been trying with them for ages with no success, I still use them but I think I have had about 15 clicks in about ten thousand impressions and no revenue so I will be leaving them for a bit until I am in a positon with double my traffic.

At the moment its all planning so I am just putting a few ideas out there to see other peoples oppinions etc
