Default Review My Arm Building Site

Hi,

Please take some time to review my new arm building site. Just made it a little over a week ago.

As you can see, it's far from finished, but I need feedback so I could go down in the right direction.

Comments anyone?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

PS: The link is in my sig. It's the second one.

Default Excellent work.

Gigababbler

Impressive work. Good choice of colors that work together. Attractive layout without getting too crowded or overly flashy (distractive). I like the choice of pictures. So many sites like to show body builds that look excessive to most folks. Parts that I read were well written with enough personal info to be real. Nice job.

One thing I would do. It may be just my taste and it can be a little challenging code wise. I like to expand the background color of the left/right columns in height to match the content column. Also, I don't really like the dotted lines—the solid ones as on this page look better to me. Again, a matter of taste so I can't say others would feel the same about these two things.

Also, another thing I did notice. The red around the nutrition boxes seems to clash a little. I think I would tone that down a little toward the browns in the site. Otherwise I know you are already planning a little more content and pictures, especially on the exercise pages.

Again, good work. Hope all goes well for you.

Thanks for the reply. I've changed the dotted lines, and now it looks much better.

I'll look into the color options for the gadgets tomorrow.

Thanks again!
Jim

Default Great work!

Wow! You've been busy! It looks great and I like your writing style. I would recommend adding pictures to the arm exercises.

Other than that, you have done an amazing job so far! Please keep up to date on your new site's progress.

Thanks for the feedback. I owe it all to lisa, for helping me through.

I am currently working on the pictures.

I just need to find time (and a person to help me) to go to the gym and take the pics.

Thanks everyone!

I really do like your colors for the template. It's perfect for your topic. I agree with James about the navigations not meeting the footer. Mine is the same way. I am trying to figure out how to make that div go all the way down as James suggested. I don't particularly like that either but didn't know how to fix it. I found a site that explains how http://articles.techrepublic.com.com...1-5268973.html and plan to fix that template.

Default Thanks for the tip

Thanks for the reference, Lisa. I do it with css but must make an adjustment on each page every time I change the length of my content. Not good but I really dislike short navigation columns and have never found a way that doesn't seem too involved to be practical.

Thumbs up

I like it.

I'm just getting back into working out and can use a good site to help with working my arms.

Have you thought of adding video to show proper technique?

That would be cool.

Mark

Strangely enough this site reminds me a lot of Lisa's flat tummy one.

What was the URL again, flat stomach exercises or something ???

Lisa, you can have your margin fit the height of the page by setting your <td> to 100%. Im assuming you are using include files to handle your navigation...yes?

eg.

<td valign="top" height="100%">
<!--#include virtual="/includes/navigation.asp" -->

Oops! I forgot to mention that you need to add

table height:100%; to your style sheet
