Ok hi all,

Im new here but wanted to get your thoughts on my SBI site i have had running for a couple of months. I feel like i picked a subject i myself am passionate about but it may be in an extremely crowded niche. In any case i am determined to stick to it and i feel like i know alot about it so gotta keep plugging away.

I have hit a hump in the road because im averaging say 20-30 visits per day but cant seem to get to the next level. In any case any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

Hi Stu,

I agree you did a pick a very crowded niche, but hopefully you can push through the competition and get some dough. The fact that you chose "passive income" as your target phrase may help some though.

Your overall layout looks nice. Noticed some inconsistencies in some of your titles. For example, your dept page title is all lowercase while others are title case. On your wealth-creation-strategy.html you've got some "I's" that need to be capitalized.

I think your site could benefit from some free guides people can download to help them get on their way. Since you chose this topic I'm assuming you've got some experience with stocks, etc. so why not offer something people can download and reference? The viral effects of ebooks can be great.

Cool

Hey Stu,

I haven't been on in a while either, so I don't know you...but...I decided to give just a little piece of advice:

I don't know if SBI! allows for javascript...

But if they do....you might want to pre-load your rollover images.

Pre-loading REALLY changes the professionalism of the site to me. I am focusing on the the nav bar on the left. I don't have SBI, but I have seen enough sites that are created with it to recognize their layouts. If you are able to add javascript to pre-load your images, that would be GREAT!

If you don't know what pre-loading is:

Pre-loading is basically loading the image on the page BEFORE it is actually called. For instance, you may or may not be aware of the fact that your nav bar is full of rollover images. What happens in a rollover image is that the browser initially displays your main image, but when the cursor "rolls over" it, it swaps the images out to a different image, giving the effect of the letters becoming lighter and having a drop shadow or what have you.

What pre-loading basically does is load the rollover image BEFORE it is actually "rolled over" by the cursor. This provides the effect of an IMMEDIATE image swap when the cursor rolls over the nav bar.

I hope that helps. Here is an example of a few javascript lines that will get you started

window.onload() = function()
{
if (document.images)
{
Image1 = new Image;
Image1.src = "images/image.gif"

Image2 = new Image;
Image2.src = "images.image2.gif"

//more images
}
}

Now...I realize that SBI already has a pre-load image script... but it does not appear to be working for me...

Anyway, looks good overall though!
