Default New blog review

Hello again been a long time since my last post, I'm here again to ask you all a favor and give me your opinion regarding my new blog. It's not finish yet only has 1 post because is brand new.

So here it is How do computers work why this domain? well after a long search using my "Micro Niche Finder Software

it appears that the term "How do computers work" is searched 2,700 and the exact term only appears on 534 websites so I decided since there is a lot of demand but a low supply why not register the term as domain.

I choose .net becuase .com was already registered, for me it doesn't matter.

Thanks
Joel

Hi Joelriverap,

Good to see ya again. Wow, your site looks very nice. Crisp, clean and nice organization. Good placement of the google ads. Speaking of the ads, though. I'm wondering if placing "Sponsors" so close to your ads violates the Google terms. For some reason I thought that was against the AdSense T&C's. I just don't like to put any image or text too close. Google can be picky.

Hi Lisa,

Well I'm not sure but I heard that inserting Google Ads near sponsors can get publisher into trouble.

Like I said before I'm not sure but in my opinion if you're not sure the best is to add Google adsense far from your sponsors.

" Lisa I searched Google Terms and Condition and found what I believe you're referring to read below"

"General; Serviced Pages; Filtering; Beta Features. You agree not to display on the same Web page in connection with which any Ad Unit, Ad, Link, Search Box, or Referral Button is displayed (a "Serviced Page") any advertisement(s) or content that an end user of Your Property(ies) would reasonably confuse with a Google advertisement or otherwise associate with Google. Certain Google services available as part of the Program may contain filtering capability, such as SafeSearch or AdSafe, that You may access through Your account. However, if You elect to enable any such filters, You acknowledge and agree that: (i) it is Your responsibility to enable such features in accordance with the specifications provided by Google, and (ii) Google does not and cannot commit that all results (including Ads, Links and Search Results) will be limited to results elected by enabling such filter(s). Some Program features are identified as “Beta” or otherwise unsupported (“Beta Features”). To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beta Features are provided "as is" and at Your option and risk. You shall not disclose to any third party any information from Beta Features, existence of non-public Beta Features or access to Beta Features. "

I like the look of your blog. Really great looking.

You seem to have a mistake in your greeting in the top right:

Joel,

I agree with Lisa and TechieGuy, your blog looks great.

I believe what Lisa is referring to can be found on the Policies page, where it says:

Quote:
Encouraging clicks

In order to ensure a good experience for users and advertisers, publishers may not request that users click the ads on their sites or rely on deceptive implementation methods to obtain clicks. Publishers participating in the AdSense program:

* May not encourage users to click the Google ads by using phrases such as "click the ads," "support us," "visit these links," or other similar language
Is having the "Sponsors" heading right above the Adsense ad unit considered as encouraging clicks? I am not sure, but it's up to interpretation.

Sherif

Thank you Sherif! I knew I had seen something like that somewhere. I can't remember for sure but it seems one of my Site Build It! newsletters warned us about adding "Sponsor Links" or anything near the ads. Better to be safe than sorry with AdSense.

Default Very nice

Very nice computer blog, Joel. I have a SBI I'm currently building on computers also. It's nice to see someone else writing about it. I'm still adding content to my site, not ready to unveil it just yet.

I also noticed that part of your link in your signature is pcrepair but it links back to your blog main page. I guess you're still adding content.

Coming along nicely and it looks good so far. Keep it up and it's nice to have another technie on WB

rwskate,

Thank you for your review, yes you're right about JRPCREPAIR.com. The reason I'm redirecting my traffic to my new blog is because I'm planning to stay with my blog only instead of the website, so since I have a little traffic coming in to my regular website I fowarded them to my blog to generate some traffic.

Thanks
Joel

Default Sounds good

That's a good idea. I started out blogging before I decided to do a website and I've actually seen pretty good results. As you build content, you may want to sign up for Google Analystics. This keeps track of your incoming traffic, unique visitors, what browser is being used by your visitors, how long somone visits your blog, etc. very, very useful info that you'd want to know since you're blogging. Personally, it's my favorite of all 'Google utilities'. I highly recommend it
