Site Review Request

Hello,
i am a newbie blogger. My blog is just 4 days old. Right now i am customizing & writing post on my blog. I am facing lots of problem to customize it. so if any pro blogger just like lisa, can help me to review my site & provide suggestion to improve my blog would be highly appreciate.

Hi KRH,

It looks like everything is coming along really nicely. You have many of the main parts: about me, archive and the subscribe links. You also have the search and registered at Technorati and FeedBurner. Good job.

One thing you should include is a Categories (or labels in the Blogger world) to organize your posts. This will allow a visitor to click on a category and see all posts that are included in that category.

In your case, you can arrange your posts by software to make it easy for visitors to read about software in various categories.

yap..exactly what u said...i am searching net..how to add categories in my blog but i am having difficulty to do it. it will be great help for me if u explain me how u did it..step by step.

Also how u manage archives in a box & "about me", "contact me" under the headline??

I like your blogsite too. And I never heard of AVG, I may have to look into that myself. I'm a fellow technie, I have about 10 years in IT business and I work on laptop computers for a living right now.

I"m getting laid off so I have 8 more working days and I can't WAIT!!!!!. I plan on looking for another IT position in a few months but for right now, I'm going to concentrate on building up my blogs as well as sign up SBI very soon. As for as blogging, I'm new to it myself. It's been about two weeks now and I'm really, really enjoying it. You will find very good, helpful and useful information on this forum.

As I'm also learning, you should continue blogging about what you know, love and can share with others. Keep adding more content and keep up the good work!

I agree you are off to a nice start. Might be nice if you had a graphical logo created rather than the text for the title. I think that would make it pop and add a touch of professionalism.

I'm not sure what you mean by manage? Do you want to know how to edit the way they are displayed?

thx lisa..ur comments always something to me..i would definitely add graphical logo to my tittle..

Techieguy ...i mean how u created ur archieves in a box??? mine is line by line..

..so need more place. i see ur's only a box so all u can put on this..

and i see ur "home", "Free review", about me", "contact me" ..all are below under
tittle...whenever i click on that it goes to another page..i mean i can click on it..how u did it???

Don't worry about asking too much. The point of the forums is to ask questions.

Okay, here we go:

The "Archive" list is the easiest of the items you listed. To change the list use the following:

1. Edit the layout of your blog.

2. Click the Edit link for the Archive page element.

3. Beside style, select Dropdown Menu.

4. Click Save Changes to change your Archives list to a dropdown.

The items under my header are simply HTML links, that link to the post of my blog. I created those manually, so you won't find a page element to create those.
