Could all please take a look at my site, and offer me any ways in which I could improve it.
I have been putting Google adsense on my site now for almost a year with only limited results.
Recently I have been submitting my site to various directories , classified ad sites as well as any other Free advertising ways that I could find.
Are their any kind of other methods of advertising that may work any better for me.

Overall a very attractive site and contains a lot of information. I would think that anyone who planned to visit there would want to check out your site if they know about it.

There are a few things I notice that I think might be of help in getting more profit from the site.

First, I would focus on getting local advertisements placed by some of the businesses you write about. Perhaps even groups like the Chamber, etc. And that group, hopefully, would feature your website in some of their promotion material to get people more interested in the community.

Next, there are some things you could do to improve navigation. Your bar is good, but if you just think like someone who has never been to your site and try to find your way around you will notice things.

For example, on the page Victoria BC Restaurants you see information about only two restaurants, then ads. It is very easy to miss the links below to all the others. In fact I did completely on my first look at the page. I would move that info up or at least make it larger. It probably does need to be located higher because seeing the mass of ads many people would not read further thinking that was the end of any text. Those links and text do get lost in the end material.

Others with more marketing online experience might be a better authority on this, but I find the Google ads breaking up text to be a little distractive. If the middle ones were on the right side I would like the layout better, I think.

Finally, I would get a different pic than that green soup. It sure doesn't look too appetizing to me! (Personal taste)

You have done a lot of good work here. I really like the site and don't see why it shouldn't perform well for you. Perhaps the greatest need of all is working on getting hits. Have you used statistical programs to watch the number of visitors and looked at click ratios? That would tell you where your greatest need is.

Well it seems the adverts have complety dissapered! Or maybe its just me but i cant seem to see one advert on your site which is nice.

I do try to keep my sites ad free as they tend to really annoy your guests, i know they do me if suddenly i am interuppetd by lots of ads. By ad free i mean stupid ads that shout at you! They REALLY annoy me

I aggree with James about getting some local advertising that would be a good boost. Also it will show that this site is not just some one out to make money from ads and having there space, but actually wants to get people to come to the destination. A very posisitive move.

I like the layout of your site at the buttons are easy to use and not too much visual stuff being pored onto the user. Nice and Simple its always the way to go.

My final comment would be a search function. You can get these free and do nto take too much time to set up. I would say a search deff. for your directory or an A-Z top or split by category? Anything to make the users happy and make the site easier.
