Cool Template Evaluation

I just finished the template for my site that I'm working on. Please check it out and let me know what you think!

I tried to keep it clean with nothing much on the front page except for content...

http://www.amazingtechguys.com/beta

Also, let me know if you see any bugs or anything...

Thanks!

I like the rollovers and how you did the navigation. Seems to be a lot of blue in the center of your header. Maybe more graphics are needed. That part seems a bit empty.

Default Just a few thoughts

This looks really sharp, a professional look. There are a few things I would like to try. I would dump any of them that didn't improve anything. The only way I can visualize is by testing.

You might minimize the wide amount of space (which does have some real value) by moving the text on the right side up and to the left, leaving about 1/3 to 1/2 overlap which is a good look.

Another thing that might keep that blue from being so dominate would be to choose a lighter shade for behind the content area.

The navigation buttons are a little small. I think they could be a little larger without hurting the look and feel. (Obviously you are a young whipper snapper.)

On the other hand I might just leave it alone. I like it.
Very good work.

Good success.

Cool

Lisa - Thanks for the comment! It was a little work to get the menus working like that. There's no javascript! It was done strictly in CSS! Anyway, as for the blue, I can see what you're saying. I think that once I get some pictures up in the main content area, it will help with the issue of balance? But maybe I can texture the background of the top part...or change the shade of blue.

Basebase - Again, thanks for the comment! I am actually going for a lower-case kind of feel for this site. Well...at least for the title and stuff. But I will definitely be capitalizing all of the content for the site!

James - Thanks! I think you are referring to the "amazing tech guys" and the "technology. easier" part that you would suggest moved up and to the left. I will give it some testing and see what it looks like. I will also try some other shades of blue for the content area. Maybe a complementing color instead of blue for the content area. The "too much blue" argument seems to be the general consensus. So, I'll go ahead and check it out.

Thanks for all your comments! I really enjoy getting some new eyes on the site!

I also really like your nav bar, Im edging towards the colour white as your background instead of grey, may make your writing stand out a little better.

You've done very well with the Google ad positioning it nearly straight in-line with your paragraphs so your visitor will feel more intrigued to press it.

Personally I prefer your header without caps letters in it, it makes it look more unique and professional.

The only thing I would say is that your images in your banner might need to be cut a little better, did you use the lasso tool or the magic wand tool to cut out your images?

Overall your site is very good looking and sleek so keep it up buddy!

Your site is well structured. You did a great job with the navigation. I didn't detect any bugs. I would like it when you finish.

Default Looks better, but green?

Your new look is good, some real improvements, and has a good sense of balance. I think the blue for background color was much better though and should be OK with the new design, especially if you use two shades as you have with the green. The green or olive look is a real negative, for me anyway, a kind of emotional (dare I say intestinal) reaction. The blue did look very professional.

Good success

James

Haja! This made me laugh hard out loud! Maybe I'll change it back to the blue and use two shades then.

What does everyone else think? (Especially about the power chord?...I don't know if I like that yet)
