Default Not enough friends or family to evalutae my site

I'm looking for feed back on my site for navgation, interesting content, or not, and readability.

I do not have many friends and family to do this for me, so I'm hoping I can get enough feedback from here to make any neccessary changes.

The theme of my site is to help people recognize why they may need a home business through business evaluation, retirement and college savings shortfalls, tax benefits, and programs that fit trends.

Any input will be much appreciated.

Loose the blinking and this page would look a lot better with fixed-width (at least with my resolution which is 1680x1050). I don't know how hard it would be to do it for your template, but I would suggest you look into it..
Page on my screen looks too.. fallen a part, especially the content/text blocks.

Default fixed width

Hi

Thanks for posting. What do you mean by fixed width?

Thanks

I also dislike the flashing too, and i feel as if you have two headers you have lots of useful content on there but its not on the front-page fold, by that i mean you have to scroll down to see it.

In my opinion I would move the navigation to the left hand side, move the header in place with the content so its not on its own and perhaps cut down your images, there too big I have looked on various resolutions such as:

1024 x 768 (the most common)

And I have to scroll width ways which isn't a good sign.

Also the information on your side bar is very overwhelming there's peoples faces everywhere and I feel as if I'm in the supermarket.

I like your colours and I also like the interactive speech buttons too, I hate to be giving you negative feedback but I hope it helps so you can monetize and improve your website for the average visitor and become very succesful.

All the best,

Rob.

Fixed width is when you fix your sites width to a certain value, for example 800 pixels or 80% of screen. Right now, I don't know if it's only with widescreens or with all, but I feel like I need to look all over the screen at once which is very confusing.

Also like Rob already said you have too much content on side bars. When you scroll down you have this big, blue box with nothing inside because sidebar is too long. Better add some of this content to your.. well, content instead of sidebar.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but I'm not fond of it. All of the different colors and contrast makes it look awfully like one of those scam sites. Plus, that flashing pop up is TERRIBLE!

Hi

I appreciate the good with the bad. The good input tells me what I'v done correctly, and the bad tells me what I need to do to fix.

The blinking doesn't show in EI. It does in firefox though and IS very annoying. I think it is due to the photo scroll, which doesn't work on the first page due to the dropdown box. Can't figure that out.

Thanks
Randy

Cool Agreed

I agree with most of what people have said...the blinking makes it immediately hard for me to want to stay on the site. (Although I think you said that you would fix that)

The site overall seems to be very disorganized. It's hard to find information that you are looking for. This is the kind of site that if I ran across it, I would immediately leave because I would feel like I would not get any information off of it because of it's poor readability.

I think the content is good and very useful, but a new template might be considered. You can get free templates from http://www.templatesbox.com. That's a good site.

The image with all of the fading and the two doves...I don't know about that. There's too much going on in it.

This sentence:

When you were young, like "96% of American's who are, or who will be retiring relying on social security, family, or charity... just to get by" (according to the Dept of Health and Human Services), did you have dreams and aspirations?

Took me a few times through reading it to figure out what you are trying to say...

Anyway...those are just my thoughts. I hope I didn't offend you.

Hi

Thanks for the input. It's honest, and I appreciate it. No offence taken.

Question though.

You wrote;

{The site overall seems to be very disorganized. It's hard to find information that you are looking for.}

I find that comment to be interesting, and it's probably the most important observation made so far. More input on this would be a great help.

Thanks again
Randy
