Red face My Fast Food Toys website

Hi everyone!

I'm ready to take that next step - to have my site finally reviewed. I definitely still need to work on my "About Me" page as far as talking about SBI. I guess I'll always consider my site a work in progress, but I'm ready to get some input on what I have on my site already. I haven't felt this nervous in a while - it's like getting in front of the class to present a project. Yikes. Lol. Thanks in advance!

Here it is: http://www.i-love-fast-food-toys.com

Hi Zeus,

Wow, what an interesting niche! I really like the concept of your site. How fun. I used to LOVE getting the McDonalds toys.

One thing I noticed is that your homepage does not have very much content, it's mostly pictures. Since your homepage is the most important page for the search engines, you really want to have a decent amount of content using your target keywords. So I would build that up some more.

It would be great if you could develop some kind of header with fries, hamburgers, etc. so really convey your theme. I know you can't do that with SBI! (you'd need to use a graphic program) but I'm not sure the cows in the header convey fast food toys.

Good job.

Great site, and nice topic too I like your overall concept but after looking through most of your pages there it a lot of content missing, I thought it would be a good idea to provide a page about the different fast food stores.

Following from what lisa said about the cow header, if you do decide to change it, try GIMP its free and very easy to use.

I like your navigation bar on the graphics side in my opinion I love it, but on the content side it needs a little more work but yeah love your site and keep the hard work; you've made me want some fast food

Default Wow!

I don't think anyone has EVER thought of that before! That's such an awesome topic.

I like your page. It's very...happy! Looks nice!

I would have to agree with Lisa and say that it seems that your header needs some work as cows do not really convey fast food toys. As Rob had mentioned, GIMP is a good tool that you can use as an alternative to photoshop. It's not as complex. Just an FYI, when you install GIMP, you need to also install the GDK (I think that's what they call it.) So, if you are installing it for the first time, make sure that you get the two separate packages.

What's "The Box" on the left side nav? Should that have been a button?

Also, if you can try to get rid of the those little blue spots on some of the buttons on the nav...they're a little distracting.

Looks good! Good niche!

Thanks everyone for your feedback!!!

The cow header is definitely something I was unsure about but it was the most colorful and "fun" of all the pre-made designs. You're all right though. It has nothing to do with my topic. I'm really excited to try out GIMP to make a new header. I wish I wasn't at work right now 'cause I want to take care of this right now.

As far as the content and my frontpage goes I still have a long way to go. I have to write a lot more stuff. I guess I'm going to have to use some vacation and sick days from work.

Thanks again Lisa and everyone!

Wow! I actually ended up reading just about every page. xD

The down side is that it didn't take me very long to go through the whole site D=

I do really like the cute cow header, but like most other have said, it may be a little away from the overall theme. Lisa's suggestion may be a good alternative.

Overall, it's a great work

I really appreciate everyone's comments. It's true what Lisa said about how lonely it can be creating a website for the very first time and not have anyone else know about what you're doing or going through. This forum is so helpful! Thanks!

Talking

that is a Eye catcher, nice site Idea I like that smart.

now you need to generate some traffic to it why not
sell a few of them fast food toys on your site then put one up on ebay and have a link on ebay going back to your site.

or throw it around some message boards, and drum up some traffic.

start up another part of the site that people can trade them things and have terms and conditions page also stating you are not responsible for any trades etc. on your site to protect your self

great idea
