Default Recently launched website - Please review

Hey Everyone,

This is my first post and I must say this site as well as Lisa's 2createawebsite are awesome! Very useful information.

Because of this site, a buddy and I are throwing some ideas around as far as how we can create a site with rich content and possibly generate money through ads. Thanks Lisa!

With that said, I'd greatly appreciate feedback on a site I recently launched. I consider myself a Junior Webmaster per se - meaning I've created a few sites before, but I'm still working on improving my skills and I'm not anywhere skill-wise where I'd like to be. It will come with time though..

Anyways, the site I'd like feedback on is very simple and hopefully easy to follow.

Please note my site was created to offer my web design services but by no means is this post intended to generate business.

I'm just looking for feedback and hopefully I can provide useful insight in this forum in the near future.

Thanks everyone.

Hi Levi,

I like the site. It has great pictures and information, but it's not too busy, and I love your top image.

The only thing I didn't like was this paragraph:

"To get started right away on your project, or to request a free estimate, click HERE. I'm more than willing to answer any questions you may have and I look forward to hearing from you."

It sounds a little too forward because it's at the beginning of the page. I think you should put some more info on the home page, and put that paragraph further down.

Use more content to persuade your visitors to use your service, and then give them a link to sign up.

Thanks, West.

You're probably right in saying that paragraph is better off further down the page and more persuasive content with a link to sign-up wouldn't hurt either. Thank you! I'll be sure to implement these changes.

Thanks again.

Hi Levi

Welcome!

Coooool blue. I love it! I think it would be good if you added a link to the samples on your nav. Seems to me that would be a key page people would want to view.

Default question about site structure

Wow! You have some great abilities and I am sure that people seeing your site will like it.

You have excellent balance of space and content which is rare. I like the colors and other things mentioned, too.

I am curious about one thing of a technical nature, I hope not too much out of context for this thread. I notice that you are using xhtml and css, but still you box up your content in tables rather than positioning with your css. Can you tell me why you do that?

James

Well your obviously not a novice at this type of thing, especially the graphical work its awesome, I agree with all the others my request would to add a 'free template page' there is a huge demand for quality freebies and im not saying kill your premium ones just provide some free ones, and then you will earn some credibility and perhaps some sales.

James - thanks for the compliments. Regarding why I chose to use a table and position everything else using CSS...well, to be honest, it's because I'm just not quite sure how to do that yet...Still working on my CSS skills.

Rob - Thanks. Offering free templates is not a bad idea at all. Thanks for the feedback. It's much appreciated!

Thanks foong - the color scheme is pretty straight forward but I was hesitant to put that bright blue as the background color, I'm glad you like it.

Thanks again to everyone for your honest feedback. It's greatly appreciated!

Hi Levi

Your Website is very easy on the eye.

One thing that I thought was missing in your introduction was why you are set apart from other web designers. I wanted to understand why I should give you
my business rather than someone else, what will you do that is over and above the rest?

Good Luck!

Thumbs up

Hey Levi,

I find the site to be simple with a nice design and like the way how things fit together. Also, I agree with all the other suggestions and would like to add some feedback. Why not ask your clients for testimonials and post it online? It seems like your clientèle is spanish-speaking make that one of your niche target groups. You can visit church and spanish speaking forums and contribute there. Also add a faq's section for those prospective clients who could possibly purchase your services. And maybe later down the road have an function where you can translate your site into spanish. Hope this helps and God bless!

Peace & Much Success,
moimoi94
