So, bought hosting and domain for it today. Now you can see the site live

I'm in search of content right now and waiting replies for some mails for that, so thats why it's pretty empty at the moment. I also have some trouble with ad-sense. Looks like I have applied for it few years ago with my name and e-mail that I don't have access anymore (It is closed as I haven't logged in in years).. so I don't know how long that's going to take.

Anyway, shoot. What you think? What to change?

Lol I noticed that I read your post but I thought my computer was not showing the link for some reason so I didn't reply!

Anyway I like your site maybe you could find a bike site and embed an RSS feed in there so you always have fresh content, you need something on the right hand side maybe an ad block or a widget of some sort.

Also you could have a calender with updated events going on, a forum if it becomes popular, you definitely need to add some content pages people aren't going to click about until they find good information about Biking after all that's what visitors are after so once you start creating pages make sure you link embed them throughout your site along with a couple of adsense units.

As for your designs it hasn't changed much from the previous versions ive seen but I think the structure and colours are great and don't really need to be perfected any more.

There will be adsense ad on the right side, But I cant use adsense for the reason stated in the first post, so there is just a long, empty strip there right now.

I will add different pages as soon as I get content for them. At the moment I want to get mailing list working, then I will add different pages.

Nice looking site. I like the colours, but I'm not too sure about the light blue headers on the dark blue. That's just my colour opinion though.

I noticed in IE7 that the Search button is stretch beyond the right border. Is this by design?

Thanks. I actually tried few other colors for header, but this seemed to be the best...

And search button is now fixed Thanks.

Has anyone else had this problem with google adsense? It's been already 3 days and if I remember correctly it said that "It might take up to 24 hours to reply your e-mail".. How long does it usually take for google to reply? What are the chances that they will deny my request if I haven't logged into my other account for 1-2 or even more years?

It took about 4 days for me so I wouldn't worry it really does vary with google as long as your site Isn't an offensive or potentially of a harmful nature another quote from googles help guide, im sure you will be fine I don't think theres a traffic requirement but im not sure.

Hi everybody, again!

I've been kinda busy with.. stuff and haven't had a lot of time to visit website babble.
It's already been ~1.5 months since I first launched the site. I still haven't worried about advertising it or anything, I first want to make something special and interactive that will make people come back. But I have added some news and stuff to just see how the page would get hits by natural google traffic (It's really next to zero, just as I though when I chose to do a site about flatland) and also to to get past "Google Jail" or whatever it was called.

Anyway, things are going pretty good. There are a bit less to write about than I though, but hopefully that will change when summer comes and also when I do some advertising. I also have some ideas what to add to make site more interactive.

Also the Adsense mess have come to an end and I finally got the ad up

Also, as surprise for myself.. I get fairly high rankings in google for fairly general terms that people might actually search. For example when searching "Suelo Simple v3" I get first rank which is higher than global-flat (which I think as main competitor) and this is the term which people might actually search!
At first I readed that google will give advantage for new sites for few days when they launch to get some traffic and by that they judge the ranking that comes after that. But it's already been some time, so..

What I really wanted to ask was that when you scroll down everything looks a bit plain. Maybe suggest me some stuff (gadgets, color change, anything..) to make it look more interesting. Or isn't it that bad?
Also suggestions for ad colors are welcome as well as overall opinions about site.

So great to hear that MC and welcome back. We missed ya! Glad your site is doing well. I went to it again and to be honest, I don't think you need anything at the bottom. You have a nice template with its own texture so I don't think you really need to put anything down there. Maybe it's just me.

Cool, thanks
I guess if I keep the posts busy, not just text, but images and stuff too it doesn't look THAT boring down there. But I still would like to add something to sidebar..

Default site thoughts

A really attractive site. Well coded, too, which I always appreciate.

As you go down the page it does gets a little dark. The reason is that the right column has about the same color as the background in the main column and there is much of it unoccupied. There is a lot of space in the main column, too, which is usually good but when it is a darker color it can become a little strong. Also, the main column seems a little narrow which increases the empty left column space.

I personally really like the colors so I don't know if I would recommend changing colors, but how about widening the main column a little. Adding some right column content would also be good.

Looks very good now so I wouldn't be too concerned.

Good Success!

James

Thanks

At first I tried many color concepts. At first the design was a lot lighter ( you can actually see the "ver.1" HERE). But then I wanted to add more definition and current color solution is what I came up with.
I wasn't so sure about the blue-on-blue at first too (The text and sidebar too), but couldn't find any better color either, if it matched with the blue it wouldn't match with other stuff etc.

About making sidebar more narrow.. I think it would get too narrow?
Now I also have been also been thinking that I should have made it dynamic-width, but that would mean re-designing everything and I really don't want to go trough that again.
The narrowness doesn't bother me that much anymore either. At least I can have finer control over design and people with low resolution can still view the site without scrolling miles.
