I joined
Hi folks
I want to create a new site and was going to subscribe to wordtracker. I looked at SBI! and realized it would not cost much more to join as it has so many tools included, including wordtracker. So I joined under Lisa's referral yesterday!
I really like the keyword finder with all the detailed data it contains! My first site is starting to pick up, but I wish I had used SBI from the start. Not to worry :-)
How are you folks doing with it?
Cheers,
Pete

Congrats! It's nice to have all those tools right at your fingertips.
I am on day eight, but still focusing on days 6 and 7. I have slowed down a bit lately, dealing with the holidays. But things should get back on track after xmas.
I will be looking forward to seeing your site.

SBI!
Hi PeterM,
I haven't purchased SBI! as of yet. But based on my research and visiting this forum as well as others, you can't go wrong as long you follow the plan and stay focused! Congrats with much success and God bless!
Peace,

Excellent PeterM and appreciate the referral. Now's a good time to buy with the buy 1 get 1 free going on. SBI!'s brainstorming tool has come a LONG way. When I bought SBI! in 2005, it was a bit more challenging to use. Now it's much easier.
As max said in another thread my fave feature is the automated sitemap update when you add a new page. I have to do this manually with 2create and it's so nice not to have to bother with it with SBI!.
I can't wait until they launch the functionality that will allow us to add forums and use other scripts. I think I may try adding a forum to my site.
Good luck and keep us updated.

From what I've been reading about SBI I've been so tempted to join too. I just may do that for 2008 and see what I can get from it.

hi folks,
I have been looking at domain name options. There are two that are perfect for my sites niche. The first one is futures-trading-guides.com which is available. Alternatively there is futures-trading-guide.net (notice not plural).
My site is going to be a futures trading guide so that is perfect. I have done a lot of keyword research on it and have found:
futures trading guides has 199 value demand and 18 supply. Profitability is 11000.
future trading guide has 255 value demand and 152 supply. Profitability is 1640.
I looked on google, the plural version doesn't have much competition, infact you have to scroll to page 3 before you see the keyword in a title page. So I am thinking this could be the better choice, as the supply is much lower. However, there are many results returned on google for the non-plural of the keyword and some of these site are well established, but they are not the sites main focus. I suppose kind of like a tier 3 page.
The non plural has more competition and has many instances of the keyword in the title in the first google results.
Anyone think that plural would be a better choice for my site, due to the much lower supply?
I don't want to rush this, as I have paid for SBI, so I want to get the best choice available. I would welcome any comments
Thanks

Domain names are somewhat important in SEO, but ultimately it's going to come down to your content and inbound links from other sites.
Also remember that you can still capitalize on BOTH keyword searches through your tier 2 and tier 3 pages so just because you choose the plural version of the word for your domain name, doesn't mean you won't get traffic from the singular.
So to be completely honest, I really don't think it's going to matter that much at the end of the day. A lot of people worry that it's the end all be all with the choice of the domain name. And years ago it was a much bigger factor in how you show up in search results. But these days content and inbound links rule.
Now, here's my question. Keep in mind Brainstorm It! has changed a lot since I created my site in 2005 and I don't use it much anymore so forgive me if this is a crazy question. But when I built my site, the recommendation was to look for keywords with a demand of at least 2500 or something like that. My concern is that both your supply and demand may be very small. What were the recommendations that Ken gave for the demand numbers in the Action Guide? Maybe they've changed.

he recommends 2000 or above now and <80,000 for the broad niche keyword. The main niche keyword for my niche is "futures" which is 33000. I have about 15 keywords between 1000 and 2000, so i was going to use these as tier 2. There are lots of 100-500 for the tier 3 pages many of them not supplied well and I know enough about them to write some good content. These will fit nicely into the tier two categories
Does this sound ok to you?

Sounds like a plan and I can tell you've been doing your reading. You can definitely capitalize on those more "searched for" keywords with your 2nd and 3rd tier pages.
