See there, what did I tell you?.....lol....all you needed to do was take a break. You're now back with a new mindset which you can 'reinvent' your same niche idea, see there! I also like how you realize that it's you - you have to personalize your site and make it you, your style and your 'flavor'. I recall Lisa giving me the same advice when I first started. She said she liked my site because it had my personality and it should be the same with yours. When people visit a site, I think they should be able to connect with the individual whose site it belongs to because it's YOU-
Excellent point about the wireless internet connection, I think I mentioned on my site how it can be dangerous to be on a public wi-fi connection because it's not secure. But you've put another spin on it and now you can include that on your site. Good points and a good idea.
As far as my site, I'm still writing out my stuff and will be updating it. Thank you for having a look, I appreciate that and as soon as you get your SBI ball rolling, please let us know.

I certainly will let you know when I get my SBI site rolling. I am currently on Medical Leave from work, so I have lots of time to work on my website right now. Especially now with Fall coming and it not being as nice for outdoor activities. In the summer, I try to take advantage of the nice weather as much as possible. Your site certainly does have a personal flare to it and is very readable.

Chris, great observation, I guarantee there is an interest in your new niche idea, because it is was very informative and valuable information to me. So, I am at least one person. I would like to know more. It was almost like a tease. I can certainly feel that you are back on positive footing. Keep us posted. We are hear to support each other.
Also, it's a good idea that you are going to re-read the first couple of days of the action guide. I must emphasize again that their are several brainstorming and niche articles in the HQ link. It has definitely help me tremendously. I'm going through the process articles now. It is also wonderful.

Glad to know that at least one person is interested in my niche lol. Yes, I am finding it really helpful re reading Days 1 and 2. I'll be sure to check out those articles as well. I prefer reading than watching videos. I'm a real visual learner. This reminds me a bit of my College Days, where I'd re read my text books over and over again. I'm a bit of a slow learner!

I like to write and I like computers so I decided to put the two together and try to do something with it. I bought SBI, started initially with a niche which I ended up not liking because I realized I wasn't passionate or excited about it. This made me feel a little sad....no, actually I was mad at myself- I sent an email to the SBI folks asking them if it was too late to change my subscription, domain, etc. and they said yes!
The second go round, I took my time, went through the action guide a second time, watched videos of other SBIers and I learned that I can write/share something on what I know, what I'm passionate about and what I know others can learn from me, so I came up with the niche for my current site and I'm currently writing content in my notepad so I can add pages/content to my SBI site.
This took a few weeks for me to do this (choosing another niche). I say this to say, you are NOT alone in feeling this way. The thing is, you can't give up. Take a break if you need to but don't stay away. Take a break, think about what you know, what you'e passionate about, what is is that you can share with others - that's your niche!
Everyone gets discouraged but you shouldn't stay discouraged, think positive and don't give up. Giving up is easier than hanging in there and trying. I think you'll come up with a great idea. If you feel good about something, it will work out. That's my three cents-
Keep us posted!

Yes, thanks
for the encouragement and the information. Newbies need the info about not being able to change your domain name/topic, not surprising I mean SBI! is a business and I for one can be really wishy-washy at times. Also, thanks for the comment about working out the content in Notepad to copy to SBI!.
All good stuff for folks coming out the gate!

chrisinbc, glad to see you are revitalized about your site. Choosing a topic is the scariest thing for me. I've been jotting things down which I'm interested in, but I always defeat myself by thinking "why should anyone listen to me?"
And it seems the more I research, the more questions I have. Do I want to spend money on SBI? I've been out of work since May 1. I don't anticipate getting hired back into the corporate world -- I'm 64. But I do want to make money -- honest money, earned by doing something worthwhile that can help people.
I think you and Renee will definitely accomplish that. Renee, I like your site and think it's perfect for people who are not computer savvy but want to learn.

Barbara B, I've been out of work for 7 months now, and I purchased SBI about a month ago, It has literally a ton of information to help you find your niche. Its has action guide that written and video. It has about 30 or so brainstorming and niche finding articles. It has a forum delicated to brainstorming and finding your niche. You can have other successful SBIers give you feedback. Also, there are some experts here. You need to fine a resource of information that can give you a steady stream of insight, ideas and information. SBI is more than worth its weight in goal.
After 64 years, it is guaranteed that you have a ton of experience in something that you passionate and knowledgeable about. All the best to you. It just gets better and better from here.

Thanks Mr. P- I also did one called 'Blogonjob' when I was going through my layoff and I haven't updated that blog in a LONG time but since you came from a similar background as far as being out of work, I think you'd like it. I was going through a whole range of emotions and then I realized that it wasn't my fault. It hurt, when through a lot mentally and emotionally, even lost weight- This is my favorite post from the blog. Tell me what you think and anyone else, if you want to check it out.
Lisa: I'm not sure if I'll get 'yelled at' by you or not- but I think this fits on this particular thread but since you're the boss, I'll let you decide if it should stay or not.....lol

Unfortunately, I had to remove it since it does violate the linking to your own post rules. I know it's relevant but I have to be consistent or it's not fair to others I've removed. Thanks.
