Default What would happen if SBI goes out of business

i was wondering what will happen to us sbi sites if sbi were to go out of business.

Does it hurt with SE rakings etc if the site changed host service or re-upload contents?

No. I've changed hosts many times and it didn't hurt. It would be no different than if you moved a host from a non SBI host to another host.

But two things I would greatly miss are SBIs analyze it , and the brainstormer..

If I no longer have SBI , where would be the best place to go to use that brainstormer, master keyword list features, and the analyzit?

thanks again

I have question, if for some reason SBI does go out of business and the site we've built is through them, do we lose that site? Can we change our sbi-created/hosted site to another one?

No, you will not lose anything. You own the domain and all the content. And yes you can change hosts. You are paying SBI! to host your site (as well as use of things like the action guide, MKL, Brainstormer, etc.), not for the right to use your own domain and content.

Yeah, you would lose the brainstorming tools. Of course, there are other free keyword research tools (Google AdWords Keyword Tool, KeywordDiscovery, WordTracker) but as far as I know there's nothing like SBI! when it comes to combining the data, analyzing it, etc.

You could look at XSite Pro for website and content management - but it will only ever 'create a website', not necessarily a business.

Speaking of which, your website doesn't look all that big at the moment and your Alexa ranking suggests you have plenty of room for more traffic. Do you plan on growing your website - in which case WorldSubmitter from SBI will be invaluable in ensuring your content is regularly indexed and ranked.

** On the original question, what would happen if SiteSell went under. Unlikely, since SiteSellInc.com reports that profits are rising and the company is growing at about 35% year on year - but hypothetically..

I reckon that some of the filthy rich SBIers would dig deep and invest in rebuilding the company. Some of the software (which is probably patented) is worth a serious amount (Brainstorm It V3 could be sold individually for several hundred dollars EASILY) which could lend itself to being broken up - but then there's 40,000 SBIers who all have a vested interest. Perhaps SiteSell would become a co-operative?

One of the best aspects of SBI in my opinion is the World Submitter function.

I am ranking in the top 20 for my seed keyword in less than a month!

Google visits almost everyday and traffic is steadily growing.

The analytics and traffic stats are where the real value lies.

With all the "hand holding" SBI does as far as formatting your site, how hard would it be to maintain it if one were to move it to a different host? I'd think that the if ya didn't know coding - ya might wanna get serious about learning .

It wouldn't be too hard if you took the time to learn about uploading and HTML/CSS. As West said, you just wouldn't have access to the brainstorming guide, MKL, mailing list, etc.
