I have subscribed to SBI to advertise my upcoming biz (to reduce marketing cost).
Here is my problem: 1) The domain name that I would like to use is already taken, the dot com. Can I use the dot net instead? And then, I don't want my name to appear in the Whois, what should I do when registering the domain name.

2) Since I'm reading that SBI has a limited theme/design capability, I am thinking of outsourcing my landing page. Is it advisable?

I need your advise so that I can save time, money and effort.

You can outsource a landing page but you still are going to have to learn how to use SBI's "Upload Your Own HTML" feature in order to customize this.

1) .com is the favoured extension but since it's already taken you can either get another extension such as .net or you can change the desired domain name around a bit until you find one that's available. I have never used SBI before but it may be possible to buy the domain name from someone such as godaddy.com who offer private registration.

2) As Lisa said it is possible to do that. If you are just having a landing page then you will be able to get away with paying someone to create it. But if you are creating multiple pages that will need to be updated from time to time it may be best to learn some html/css.
