Default MKL question

I am one of those who struggled to understand BRAINSTORM IT in the beginning. Now that I have 30+ pages written that I feel are all geared to information that people are seeking in my niche and see my traffic growing slowly but surely....very slowly.....I have gone back and tried to better understand BI and MKL so that pages I write from here on are all geared toward keywords that people are researching in my niche.

These are my questions:

Is MKL updated periodically and if so, how often. What I mean is, if a keyword had high demand, low supply, a year ago when I did my first BI, doesn't that change over time?

And also, is there a reason to put keywords in your content even if they are not the main topic of the page. Here's an example:

running to lose weight 2446/215
lose weight by running 1073/93

would it be of benefit to name the page "running to lose weight" and also add a few phrases within the content "lose weight by running"? or do spiders only look for the primary keyword of the page.

I have researched this on the SBI forum, but usually I just end up getting more confused because they either "talk over my head" or different people give different answers.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone here can give me

Hi Janna,

I believe the MKL is updated... I have different keyword results than I did a year ago.

I found a great post on the SBI forums about keywords (I wish I'd seen it last year -- and been able to process it!! )

You asked
Quote:
running to lose weight 2446/215
lose weight by running 1073/93

would it be of benefit to name the page "running to lose weight" and also add a few phrases within the content "lose weight by running"?
Yes! You can have up to 5 keywords... the more keywords your page can be found for, the better for your traffic.

I also found running for weight loss 3403/317

These phrases all have great numbers.

If you use these three, your keyword box would be:

running to lose weight, lose weight by running, running for weight loss

In your title, use your main keyword and the second keyword:

Like : Running to Lose Weight - Find out how to lose weight by running!

In your description, use the main keyword and the third keyword:

Like: Running to lose weight can help you lose blank pounds fast. Forget about dieting! With running for weight loss you can lose pounds and eat more!

(Obviously my lame examples, but you get the drift!!)

You can use the description as the first few lines in your text. Continue to weave these three keyword phrases throughout your page and make sure to check your page with the analyzer when you're done.

Hope this helps!!

Yes! It helps a lot....thanks so much!

I was so overwhelmed in the beginning of all this, especially with brainstorming and MKL's and all that that I know I could have done better.
I'm going to make changes and do some tweaking now that I understand more clearly.

Thanks so much for your help! I appreciate it a lot.

Janna : )

I would not use high class keywords in my text but would use them in an extra page.
I believe it is okay to weave this into your text (lose weight by running 1073/93)
as an additional keyword BUT you have to put keywords like this into the title
and description and keyword box as well.
But in this case you can't do this as it has the same meaning like the main keyword, it would sound strange.

But I would not use this >running for weight loss 3403/317< in the same page
but would build another t2 or t3 if possible.
Keep in mind that keywords can step on each others feet!
So don't hit five top keywords into one page. This is nonsense, if you think about it logically.
Which pages will google list then if many pages are clustered with the same keywords?

This effect will also happen if you have a lot of pages, let's say 600 pages. And many use same keywords in the text.

There is a thread in the SBI Forum.

Thanks Nobi!
I understand what you are saying. I think....lol
running for weight loss 3403/317 and
running to lose weight 2446/215 could both be t2 or t3 depending
on how they'd fit best (right now I have running to lose weight as a t3).
lose weight by running 1073/93 can be weaved into either of those
pages, along with other lower value keywords, on those two pages?
I really appreciate all the help!

Default mkl

Still a little confused about how to use the mkl list. My theme is Golf Instruction or Golf Tips. So my seed word is Golf. Do I just go down the list and see if Golf Instruction or Golf tips is on the list and how much demand there are for these key words. thanks...............bill

The idea is you type in a main word in your case it would be 'golf'

From this you get lots of keywords with 'golf' in it so it may come up with 'golf tips', 'golf swings', 'golf balls' etc etc etc etc

From this list of keywords you need to get rid of the ones that are no good, so get rid of non-sense e.g 'golf lame', 'golf 7' then you need to get rid of ones with low profitability or really low demand, so you end up with keywords that are searched for a lot and have better chance of bringing traffic, these keywords will then be used later in the content of your website

Its all about the action guide download the videos and listen to the narrator she will tell you what to do with the keyword list!
