Default SBI - Best for Information Sites?

OK, I've been absorbing the information posted SBI in these forums and let me tell you I've learned a lot. So from what I've gathered (and please tell me if i'm wrong) SBI is really best for information sites that help people and then you make money by referring people to affiliate programs right?

What about someone who wants to build a site strictly to sell goods like handycrafts. Does it support sites like this? What about taking orders and shopping carts?

I've been to Mr. Ken Evoy's page but I have to admit there is a lot of info and it's easier to come here to get my answers. Thank you.

SBI! has an add-on (for an additional monthly fee) called Store Build It!. So if you want to sell hard goods from your site then yes, SBI! is good for that too.

Most successful SBI! customers do create the informational type sites but there are some hard good/store sites that are successful too. Jim Nelson's www.jugglenow.com is an example.

Watch the Video Tour, http://videotour.sitesell.com to learn more about how Jim created his site.

Hi Ava-

To add to Lisa's answer, there are lots of different types of SBI sites. Check out the case studies from SBI to learn more: (not an affiliate link)

http://case-studies.sitesell.com/

Notice that "infopreneuring" is only one model.

One very successful SBIer sells medical equipment through his site - I don't believe he uses the store module - and he's doing multi-million dollar sales every year (granted, he's selling very expensive equipment!)

Depending on how you run your business (fulfillment, shopping cart, etc) you could use different models for your business. Affiliate links and advertising may only be a small part of your plan (if those figure in at all). That's up to you!

I found this SBI resource page which has lots of information. There is a store build it section which could be a useful to you. Have a look.
