Hi everyone,
I've spent a lot of time researching SBI over the last few weeks and have read the action guide and much more. I feel that I have a good understanding of the CTPM process. Having said that, my head is still spinning a bit!
I have a couple of ideas in mind for websites that are centered around my interest in meditation. I am also a musician and I have a studio in which I produce instructional guided meditation CD’s. One of my ideas is to develop a site from which I can sell “ambient production music” (background music that other music producers can in their productions).
If I was to create an information site on “meditation” I would have no trouble getting lots of relevant keywords to support this topic and would be able to write plenty of relevant pages of information. However, a site dedicated to “ambient background music” is in a far narrower niche. I’m concerned that the CTPM process of SBI may not apply too well to this narrow niche. I have been using Wordtracker’s free keyword suggestion tool to find keywords and phrases that are related to my site concept, but most of what it yields are not very relevant. I don’t want to fill up my site with content that is only vaguely related to my theme just for the sake of trying to fulfill the “C” part of the CTPM process.
It strikes me that people who actually find my site would be very targeted visitors because of the narrowness of my niche, therefore the quality of my site and it’s e-goods would be more important than the sheer quantity of pages that the site contains.
So how important is it to develop lots of content for a relatively narrow niche?
Can a site with fewer pages than SBI recommends still achieve good Google rankings using SBI?
What are your general thoughts on the suitability of SBI for my idea?
Many thanks for your advice.
