Default Tag Line in Header

I read Lisa's review of Rita's Outback Guide website and learned some good tips to integrate on my site.

I am trying to find out if I can put a tag line in my header, using SBI. I see where I can customize the logo and images, but not where I can add a "second line" of text to create a tag line.

My second question is should I put a google search button on my pages and if so, where? I don't have a three column set up like css style pages.

Thanks!

and hey, why won't my signature link work? I can't find how to change it in my profile

Hi Janna

Are you using the block by block builder? If so you cannot add text BUT you can create a new logo in a graphics program and add the tag line with the graphics program.

As far as your search box goes, you are kind of limited due to the template. You could put it at the top of every page. Perhaps created a table/box and put the search box there. I really think it looks best in a column instead of the body of the page but you are limited using the builder.

As far as your signature, go to "UserCP" and click "Edit Signature"

Default why didn't I think of that! lol

I knew there was a way to add a tag line with SBI block by block (I've seen others do it), but couldnt figure it out.

Thanks, Lisa!

Now...as for my sig line, my coding is fine (?) but that's what comes through...the coding!

After going to user CP (which i hadn't noticed before! I had clicked on Janna and was going from there! lol

Anyway, in "Signature Permissions" it says NO, in allow HTML. Is that my problem?

Thanks again

No, don't try to use the coding when you create your sig. Just use the WYSIWYG editor and click the blue globe with the hyperlink attached and it will prompt you to add the link to your site, along with the text.

Default finally!

Unfortunately all this technical stuff doesn't come easy for me, but what I lack in instant learning, I make up for with determination!

I FINALLY got the sig line to work...it took a few stabs at it, but I won! lol

I'm still working on getting a tag line into my header, but I've reached my frustration level with it for one day. I'll go back to adding content, which is probably a better use of my time at this point anyway.

Its so good to have this place to come when I really get stuck. Most of the time I know there's a way to accomplish my efforts, but occasionally I figure its not worth the angst, and ask for help.

Merci beaucoup!

Default I did it!

Probably seems like a minor accomplishment to most folks, but to me its pretty big. It took a lot of attempts, but I finally got my tag line onto my header.

On SBI, in order to put your own text in the header (which includes adding a second line) you have to download the "bare" header from SBI in the LOOK AND FEEL SELECTOR then add the text in a graphic program. then go back and add the new header you created.

I have the free paint.net and it works great!

Anyway, another thing I can cross off my TO DO list. I'm pleased with how my header turned out.

Default Thanks, Lisa!

I think it turned out well. I'm not crazy about the image, I'd rather use one of a person a little less in shape..lol, but for now this works!

And yes! It feels fantastic to figure something out. It helps gives confidence when moving on to the next thing.
