I don't mean to be blunt but that's just asking for too much... If they asked for the $299 a year to host unlimited sites(or at least 5-10 sites) I could understand.
But I feel 299 a year for each site is too much even with what comes with it...Sorry if I sound redundant...

Nobody here is wrong per se. We're talking about two different business models.
The multiple sites approach is a different animal than the SBI approach.
I decided to focus exclusively on SBI sites because they autosubmit to the search engines, they offer separate keyword research tools for each site, because they have the hands-down best support team I've come across online (because I've needed that), and because I'd rather focus on building a site than fighting with the CPanel features or learning HTML.
It's also a different way to deal with your readers.
Mini-sites have a different feel than the typical SBI site. I have one site that has over 200 pages. Different model than the multiple mini-site method.
It just depends on what you want to do, and how you want to do it.

I think if you ask anyone who has an SBI site, they would think the price is fair. But that's because we have hands-on experience with the service, so we know how valuable it is. To piggyback on what Amybiddle said, you get so much more with SBI than with other hosts. With any other host, you'll have to do double the work to get noticed online. And besides, SBI will give you a refund if you're not happy with your purchase.

I agree with the ladies. Depends on what you're looking for. Having used SBI! (even though I had web building experience) I still think the price is very good because I always think about why so many people fail with making money online. You're not only paying for the tools but you're paying for the education. Most people fail online because they never learn the preliminary things which I feel SBI! teaches better than any host or site I've seen. It's not just about "putting up a site". It's about understanding how to market, create your voice and so many other things. Could you do all this without SBI!? Of course you could. But some people learn better with their model.
But as I always say, SBI! is not for everyone.

After spending lots of $$$$$ at other places trying to learn how to build a website and how to drive traffic to it, I think SBI is worth every penny I paid and I am so sorry I didn't find it first. It is much less expensive than any of the other programs I bought into...yet I have learned the most from it and accomplished more than I had with the others. The support I have received from SBI has made a huge difference for me as well. (I think I might have had more success with some of the other programs had the support been there)

SBI
Oh I agree with all the education, tools, and support, it's worth my $299 year
What gets me is why do you have to pay another $299 if you want them to host your second website?

I think from a marketing standpoint that would be great if SBI! would at least discount multiple sites but I think their behind-the-scenes setup is a big reason for this.
With most regular hosts, it's easy to add multiple domains to one account because you can just setup another folder on a server and redirect the nameservers, etc. etc. But SBI! is not a regular host. Ken has tried to explain it to me before but there is sooooooooooo much going on with all the proprietary tools they offer that it's not that easy to just lump multiple domains with one account. The would probably have to re-config their own setup.
I want to point out that Site Build It! was created by 2 or 3 programmers and everything is custom made. So it's not run or setup like GoDaddy, HostGator, and all these other regular hosting companies. It's all customized software. So I'm sure just adding new domains to one account is not as easy as it may sound to those of us who are used to multiple domains on one hosting account. We can't even use regular FTP with SBI!. The programmers had to build a feature (Quick Upload) that functions similar to an FTP program so we could upload multiple files.
Who knows, though. Perhaps they're working on doing something like that in the future. But as I said I think the way their functionality is setup is the reason they cannot offer this.

O.K. That makes a little more sense. Thanks for explaining it to us.

If I told you that from one SBI site I make 100, yes 100 times what it costs me per year, would that make it sound more reasonable? There is simply NO WAY that I could have done what I've done without SBI. Maybe now, 3 1/2 years down the track and a lot more savvy with "web-stuf" I could have a much better stab at it, but why would I bother when SBI is so easy to use, is proven and is run by a guy that really does care about the people who buy his product.
For me, its a no-brainer!
