I became an SBI affiliate before I got my SBI site. My site is basically an information site about MS. We have almost 80 pages of content and traffic is still not to the point where we can monetize yet.

My question is about promoting SBI by adding a "why we built this site" page. I'm not sure when to do it. Should we wait until we are actually making money with the site? Have any of you been in a similar situation, and what did you do?

I don't want to scare my visitors away - they come mostly for information on multiple sclerosis. I am thinking though, that many of them would benefit from a home business, not just because of the economy, but because of their condition. My husband stopped working because of MS about 8 years ago and we've been searching for a way to make money from home for quite awhile. Especially since I also stay home with him.

What do you think? Should we still wait?

I don't think there's anything wrong with doing this now. The key is to just tell your story about why you purchased it and make it seem genuine. I know a lot of SBIers who create their pages right away (I did). If you're not making a lot of money, you can still talk about the actual building process of SBI! and how it helped you. When you begin to see success you can always update it.
